TONOMUS launches NEOM’s first digital communications facility

NEOM, the futuristic city being developed in Saudi Arabia, has achieved a significant milestone with the inauguration of the TONOMUS.NEOM Telecommunications Center. This cutting-edge facility, established by TONOMUS, NEOM’s cognitive technology company, aims to revolutionize digital communications in the region.

The TONOMUS.NEOM Telecommunications Center is equipped with a highly efficient data center and accompanying infrastructure, designed to enhance the availability, resilience, and growth of crucial network connectivity technologies such as 5G, satellite, and fiber cable. Moreover, the facility will facilitate the provision of secure private cloud services within the NEOM region. The Center will also house on-site offices and facilities to support day-to-day operations and collaboration with industry partners in the telecommunications sector.

Located strategically in Oxagon, an area known for advanced and clean industries in NEOM, the Center will provide unparalleled network speeds and reliability. It will ensure consistent bandwidth for secure information sharing and fast decision-making, supporting the construction activities across NEOM. By keeping residents and businesses securely connected without interruption, the Center will contribute to lowering operating costs and fostering continued growth in the region.

As an integral part of NEOM’s broader digital infrastructure, the advanced and scalable capabilities of the TONOMUS.NEOM Telecommunications Center will empower the city’s networks to meet future demands. The TONOMUS.NEOM Telecommunications Center is poised to become a game-changer, with its software-driven network and secure private cloud projected to serve up to 60 locations, approximately 1,800 structures, 300,000 construction staff by 2025, and an estimated 200 million IoT devices by 2030. It will seamlessly integrate with existing and future national and international digital networks and services, ensuring a seamless experience for end-users.

The TONOMUS.NEOM Telecommunications Center brings together state-of-the-art solutions from multiple enterprises. Partners include stc, NESMA, Huawei, XFusion, Redington, Comatec, GGC, SARA, RAM, TSS, Fortinet, F5, NEC, PSIM, G2K, Samir Group, Exclusive Networks, and Maxvision.

Covering an extensive area of 18,000 square meters, the facility comprises a two-floor office building accommodating 150 personnel. It will serve as a hub for ongoing collaboration with telecommunications solution providers and technology partners, fostering innovation to continually enhance NEOM’s digital network capabilities. The Center’s strategic location in Oxagon will allow it to integrate seamlessly with the broader innovative ecosystem of the reimagined industrial city, enabling the provision of secure, resilient, and highly capable networks to support autonomous technologies, advanced and clean industries, and provide a competitive advantage to future tenants.
