LG Electronics (LG) has announced major upgrades to its LG Gaming Portal, positioning it as a leading platform for cloud and console-style gaming. The portal, available in more than 30 countries, now enhances how users experience both native webOS games and AAA titles on LG Smart TVs and devices.

The company revealed that the new UX upgrade is rolling out globally from August. It allows players to quickly discover and play AAA titles. The intuitive “Play with Gamepad” menu lets users select from cloud gaming services such as Amazon Luna, Blacknut, Boosteroid, and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, delivering instant access to thousands of titles.

LG also reported a milestone through its collaboration with NVIDIA. LG TVs are now the first in the world to support up to 4K 120Hz with HDR cloud gaming via the GeForce NOW app. This sets a new benchmark for immersive and high-performance streaming.

The new interface provides faster access to gaming accessories, including gamepads and controllers. The “Recommended for you” tab connects players to promotions and purchase options, such as a 20 percent discount on Xbox Wireless Controllers in 17 European markets. In the US, users can purchase the LG Magic Remote via the ShopTime app for games playable without a controller.

LG revealed the launch of “High Score Challenge,” designed to spark competition among players. Accessible from the “All Games” tab, it encourages gamers to climb leaderboards in titles like Color Mash.

  • Over 4,000 cloud-based games available
  • 600 free single and multiplayer titles offered
  • New collaborations expanding access to AAA and casual games

LG is also expanding its game catalog through its partnership with Blacknut, adding individual cloud game subscriptions. Players can enjoy titles such as Agatha Christie – Murder on the Orient Express, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, and Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3: Slime Speedway. Other options include Everdream Valley and Overcooked! 2, along with casual titles like The Jackbox Party Starter.

Through Play.Works, LG has also introduced free games including Wheel of Fortune, Tetris, and PAC-MAN to webOS-powered TVs. New additions include Creature Mix and Temple Maze.

Chris Jo, head of the webOS Platform Business Center at LG Media Entertainment Solution Company, said the portal is becoming an all-in-one hub. “With over 4,000 cloud-based titles and 600 free games, LG’s Gaming Portal is quickly emerging as a complete gaming destination,” he stated.

LG confirmed that Gaming Portal is available on LG Smart TVs, Smart Monitors, and third-party TVs running webOS. The company remains committed to optimizing the experience through continuous upgrades and partnerships.
