Acer’s story today is one of balance, where gaming, green tech, and innovation meet responsibility. From building carbon-neutral AI PCs to empowering gamers and professionals with smarter, more connected experiences, the brand is redefining what technology can achieve. In this exclusive conversation with TECHx Media, Michele Montecchio, General Manager of Acer Middle East, shares how Acer’s blend of gaming excellence, sustainable design, and artificial intelligence is shaping a future driven by purpose and performance.

Many tech brands talk about being “green” or “sustainable,” but few show real impact. How is Acer making sure its sustainability efforts actually make a difference in its products?
At Acer, sustainability is not a slogan, it is built into how we design, source, and manufacture our products. From the Aspire Vero 16, our first certified carbon-neutral AI PC made with over 70 percent recycled materials, to using 100 percent renewable electricity in key production lines, we are proving that sustainability and innovation can go hand in hand. Through our Earthion platform and RE100 commitment, we are driving measurable impact across our entire value chain, not just in words but in verified action.

Everyone is talking about AI PCs right now. How is Acer using AI in ways that genuinely help users, not just as a marketing feature?
Acer’s approach to AI is grounded in usefulness and scale. We see AI not as a trend but as a core technology reshaping how people work, create, and connect. Our AI PC lineup, powered by AMD Ryzen AI and Intel Core Ultra platforms, is designed to bring practical AI experiences such as Copilot Plus integration, real-time productivity enhancements, and energy-efficient on-device processing. Beyond hardware, we are embedding AI across our broader ecosystem, from smart city infrastructure to healthcare and gaming, ensuring that Acer’s AI strategy drives both innovation and sustainable business growth.

Gaming laptops are getting more powerful every year, but gamers also care about experience and community. How is Acer designing its gaming products to go beyond specs and really connect with gamers?
At Acer, we know gaming is about more than just raw power, it is about personalization, performance, and community. Our PredatorSense and NitroSense software put control directly in gamers’ hands, allowing them to customize everything from lighting and fan speeds to system performance and macros, creating an experience that feels truly their own.

Beyond hardware, we are also investing in the gaming community itself. Each year we organize the EMEA Predator League, bringing together gamers from across the region to compete in titles like CS:GO and Sim Racing, while building a sense of belonging and friendly competition. Acer is not just making gaming laptops, it is building a Predator ecosystem that offers top-tier performance and a sense of community. Whether you are an esports competitor, a casual gamer, or a creator, Acer wants the experience around the product – community, creativity, customization to matter as much as the specs themselves.

Schools and businesses are using more tech than ever. How is Acer making sure its devices actually help students and employees work or learn smarter, not just give them new hardware?
At Acer, our mission is to make technology an enabler of smarter learning and work, not just newer hardware. Our latest AI-powered devices, such as the TravelMate X14 AI and Chromebook Plus Spin 514, are designed to simplify real tasks like meeting transcription, smart collaboration, and personalized learning. We combine this with platforms such as Acer Classroom Manager, Chrome Education Upgrade, and our broader Acer Education Ecosystem to help teachers, students, and professionals get more done with less effort. Each device is built for security, durability, and sustainability, ensuring technology empowers people to focus on creativity, problem-solving, and connection rather than managing tools.
