The Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority (ECA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Education (MoE), has announced a series of awareness sessions and workshops focused on Digital Wellbeing. The sessions will be held under the UAE Children’s Digital Wellbeing Pact and in parallel with preparations for Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Week 2025.

Aligned with the theme “Raising Safe and Smart Digital Natives”, the initiative aims to help students, families, and educators support children in using technology safely and responsibly. The sessions will promote awareness on screen time management, online safety, and positive digital habits.

ECA reported that Meta, in collaboration with Digital Bridge, will lead a set of workshops in schools. These workshops will help families navigate technology by addressing topics such as managing screen time, supporting children online, and encouraging healthy digital habits at home.

In addition, e& UAE, the telecom arm of global technology group e&, will host an online session on cybersecurity. The session will guide students on using the internet safely, treating others with respect, and protecting themselves from cyberbullying. It aims to strengthen students’ confidence and promote mindful, safe use of digital platforms.

Yango Play will also conduct a workshop titled “Safe Screens, Smart Choices by Yango Play”, in partnership with the Ministry of Education. The session will focus on educational content for students, parents, and educators, highlighting the importance of age-appropriate content, parental controls, and safe digital environments for young users.

She noted that the Digital Wellbeing Pact reflects a shared responsibility to ensure safety, confidence, and connection in the digital world. “These awareness sessions are a promise to promote online safety, responsible screen use, and healthy digital habits for families,” she stated.

Dr. Omar Al Dhaheri, Assistant Under-Secretary for the School Operations Sector in Abu Dhabi, added that launching the UAE Children’s Digital Wellbeing Pact marks a step toward equipping children with tools to thrive in the digital age. He said the Ministry of Education is integrating digital literacy and AI ethics into the curriculum to prepare smart and conscientious generations capable of navigating the digital world responsibly.

The UAE Children’s Digital Wellbeing Pact was signed during the World Government Summit 2025. It is led by the Digital Wellbeing Council and the ECA, in coordination with the Office of International Affairs at the Ministry of Interior, the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA), and the Office of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications.

According to reports, the Pact’s signatories include Meta, Google, TikTok, Snapchat, X, Yango Play, Samsung, e& UAE, and du. Together, they aim to co-create safer and more responsible digital experiences for children and youth in the UAE.

The initiative highlights the country’s ongoing efforts to enhance Digital Wellbeing, ensure online safety, and build a positive digital culture for future generations.
