The Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DoE) marked the opening day of ADSW 2026 with the launch of an immersive stand experience, it announced. The initiative highlights Abu Dhabi’s integrated energy and water vision through digital innovation, system-level regulation, and data-driven decision-making.

As Principal Partner of ADSW 2026, the Department reported that the stand demonstrates how secure, resilient, and efficient energy and water services are delivered across the Emirate. The focus is on real-world execution, affordability, and sustainability.

On the first day of the ADSW Summit 2026, H.E. Dr. Abdulla Humaid Al Jarwan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy, delivered the Welcome Address. He emphasised the importance of integrated power and water systems and noted that the global energy transition should be measured by performance and implementation. In addition, he delivered the Opening Address at the Youth 4 Sustainability Forum, reaffirming the Department’s commitment to empowering young people in the energy transition.

Meanwhile, the Department announced several initiatives during ADSW 2026. These included the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with Silal, an Abu Dhabi-based agri-tech company. The collaboration aims to enhance sustainable energy and water management practices in agriculture. It will explore smart irrigation, renewable energy, and AI-powered agricultural technologies.

The Department also revealed “Project Barq,” its sustainable mobility initiative, showcased at the interactive stand. Developed in collaboration with TAQA Distribution, the project is designed to deploy an ultra-fast and reliable electric vehicle charging network across Abu Dhabi. The initiative supports sustainable mobility while contributing to environmental goals and improved customer experience.

The DoE stand is organised into eight interactive zones. Together, they present Abu Dhabi’s energy and water ecosystem as a single, integrated system aligned through policy, planning, technology, and implementation.

Key highlights showcased at ADSW 2026 include:

  • AD.WE, the world’s first AI-powered integrated energy and water management platform
  • Project Barq, a future-ready EV charging infrastructure solution
  • Mayed, the Department’s in-house AI agent supporting data-driven decision-making

The zones also highlight demand-side management, efficiency measures, and regulatory frameworks designed to protect consumers and support investment. The journey concludes with policies that promote transparency, predictability, and large-scale delivery.

Through its participation at ADSW 2026, the Department of Energy reported that Abu Dhabi continues to advance sustainable, technology-enabled energy and water systems built to perform today and endure in the future.
