His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, today toured events and pavilions at the World Governments Summit 2026 on its preliminary day. The visit took place ahead of the official opening on Tuesday under the theme Shaping Future Governments. The World Governments Summit is scheduled to run for three days and has recorded its highest participation to date.

His Highness was accompanied by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai. Also present was His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai.

During the tour, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed visited several government pavilions. He was briefed on projects and digital solutions announced to improve efficiency, accelerate growth across development sectors, and support sustainable development. The initiatives showcased were reported to focus on technology-driven governance and innovation.

Also accompanying His Highness were His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and His Excellency Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the World Governments Summit Organisation, along with ministers and senior officials.

During the visit, His Highness stated that the World Governments Summit has evolved into a global platform for designing proactive policies and shaping future directions. He noted that governments must respond efficiently to rapid global changes and transform challenges into opportunities through innovation and technology.

His Highness further said that government innovation remains a key path to meeting people’s aspirations. He added that the UAE’s governance model is built on high-impact solutions to global challenges, with creative thinking embedded in national strategies to ensure sustainability and long-term excellence.

The World Governments Summit 2026 has reported participation from more than 60 heads of state and government and their deputies. It also includes over 500 ministers and representatives from more than 150 governments. In addition, more than 80 international and regional organisations and over 700 chief executives from global corporations are taking part, bringing total attendance to more than 6,250 participants.

The preliminary day featured several forums and ministerial meetings. These included the Arab Fiscal Forum, Arab Young Leaders Meeting, Arab Youth Leaders Forum, Kuwait–UAE Economic Forum, and the Latin America and Caribbean Investment Forum.

It also revealed multiple roundtable discussions and dialogues, including:

  • Ministerial meetings of Arab Youth Ministers and GCC Labour Ministers
  • Accelerating 5X AI Transformation Dialogue, CEO Dialogue, and the Artificial Intelligence Council Dialogue organised by the Indian Institute of Technology

Additionally, sessions such as the New Era of Family Capital Majlis and the Frontier Sectors Driving Global South Growth Council were held as part of the Latin America and Caribbean Investment Forum.

Discussions at the World Governments Summit continue with participation from heads of state, government officials, representatives of international organisations, global experts, and executives from international companies, reinforcing the summit’s role in advancing technology-enabled and future-ready government models.
