ActiveCluster is accelerating the Enterprise Data Cloud vision as Everpure introduces new support for file environments. The launch enables fleet-wide policy-driven mobility, allowing organizations to keep data continuously available while moving it across environments without disruption.

According to Everpure, the new capability addresses long-standing limitations in traditional storage architectures. Legacy systems often bind files to siloed hardware. As a result, migrations can become disruptive and data mobility remains largely manual.

“Legacy vendors are still tethered to the infrastructure-first designs of the 1990s. When files are locked to siloed hardware, migrations are disruptive, and mobility is manual. ActiveCluster changes that,” said Shawn Hansen, VP and GM, FlashBlade and FlashArray at Everpure. “We’ve moved from hardware-to-data thinking to an app-to-data model as a unified platform, at the speed your business demands.”

Meanwhile, the rapid growth of artificial intelligence has increased the need for efficient processing of unstructured data. However, many enterprises continue to rely on storage architectures built before the era of flash, cloud, and AI.

Traditional storage systems often deliver only a fraction of the throughput required for modern AI workloads. Consequently, GPUs may remain underutilized because they lack timely access to data. In addition, these systems frequently create rigid data silos since policies are tied to storage arrays rather than datasets. Human-operated processes can also introduce errors, leading to slow and complex failovers or migrations.

To address these challenges, Everpure has expanded the capabilities of its platform with ActiveCluster for file. The new feature extends traditional high availability by enabling fleet-level data mobility across file environments.

Furthermore, the capability integrates with Everpure Fusion and operates within the Purity operating environment. Organizations can centrally define availability and mobility policies. The system then automatically enforces these policies across the entire fleet. As a result, administrative overhead and manual configuration requirements are reduced.

Everpure noted that ActiveCluster for file introduces several operational benefits. The system offers simple setup and dynamic change, allowing organizations to deploy and manage configurations using standardized policies.

At the same time, files remain online during outages, ensuring continuous access and system uptime. Workloads can also move freely across the entire storage fleet, helping organizations maintain service-level agreements without manual intervention.

In addition, the platform supports “any array, any time” cloud operations. This approach allows availability and mobility to operate autonomously based on policies and defined SLAs, aligning storage infrastructure with cloud operating models.

Finally, organizations can standardize configurations and scale consistently across their entire storage fleet. Workload-level SLAs are defined through policies and enforced automatically, reinforcing Everpure’s Enterprise Data Cloud strategy powered by ActiveCluster.
