Cisco, the global networking and security, has appointed Shane Heraty as new Vice President and General Manager for Middle East, Africa, Türkiye, Romania, and CIS (MEA–TRC). Effective May 1, the executive will oversee Cisco’s strategy and commercial operations across the region.

The new leader brings over 30 years of technology experience, including more than 20 years at Cisco. Most recently, they led Cisco Africa, driving investment strategy and accelerating the Cisco Country Digital Acceleration (CDA) program in multiple African countries.

Previously, the executive managed Cisco’s operations in Qatar, Scotland, Ireland, and Commercial UKI. Their experience spans the partner ecosystem, service providers, and enterprise organizations.

Gordon Thomson, President of EMEA at Cisco, said the new leadership will strengthen regional digital connections, accelerate AI infrastructure development, and deliver key business outcomes for customers.

The executive emphasized the region’s innovation and Cisco’s potential to accelerate digitalisation, AI adoption, and economic growth.

Cisco continues to advance its presence and initiatives across the MEA–TRC region, reinforcing its commitment to networking, security, and AI infrastructure.
