AI glasses are expanding in capability as Meta introduces new Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta updates, including prescription-ready designs and advanced AI features.

Billions of people worldwide use glasses or contact lenses for vision correction. At the same time, many Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta users already rely on prescription lenses in their AI glasses. Now, Meta is rolling out a new optical-focused version that supports nearly all prescriptions. In addition, the company is introducing new colors, lens options, and software upgrades.

The latest Ray-Ban Meta glasses are designed for users who need prescription eyewear throughout the day. They come in two styles: Blayzer, a rectangular frame available in Standard and Large sizes, and Scriber, a rounded design. These models are built for improved comfort and extended wear.

Moreover, the new glasses include overextension hinges, interchangeable nose pads, and adjustable temple tips. These features allow better customization based on face shape. The glasses are available for pre-order starting at $499 in the US through Meta and Ray-Ban websites. They will also reach optical retailers in the US and selected global markets from April 14.

Meanwhile, Meta is also introducing new color and lens combinations for Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 frames. These include updated Skyler, Headliner, and Wayfarer styles with Transitions lenses in various shades.

Similarly, Oakley Meta models are receiving new upgrades. Vanguard and HSTN frames now feature enhanced lens options for more vibrant visuals. These include Prizm Dark Golf lenses and new Transitions lenses designed to adapt to changing light conditions. Additional variants will roll out later this spring.

Beyond hardware, Meta continues to enhance software capabilities. Notably, new AI features are being added to improve usability. Users will soon be able to track nutrition hands-free using voice commands or photos. Meta AI will analyze food intake and provide insights through the Meta AI app.

Furthermore, Meta is introducing WhatsApp summaries and message recall features under its Early Access Program. Users can request quick chat summaries or specific details using voice commands. These interactions are processed on-device and remain protected with end-to-end encryption.

In addition, neural handwriting is rolling out widely. This feature allows users to write messages by tracing on surfaces, enabling silent communication. It will support platforms such as Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, and mobile messaging apps.

Another upcoming feature is display recording. This will combine visual, audio, and on-screen interactions into a single shareable video. At the same time, pedestrian navigation is expanding across all US cities in May, offering turn-by-turn directions directly in the lens.

These updates follow recent additions such as Instagram Reels access, Spotify shortcuts, and widget integrations for reminders, weather, stocks, and calendars.

Overall, Meta continues to advance its AI glasses ecosystem with new designs, expanded prescription support, and smarter features, reinforcing the growing role of AI glasses in everyday life.
