Dubai Airports continues to strengthen its role in global aviation, as highlighted by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He affirmed that Dubai’s aviation sector plays a vital role in connecting global markets and supporting the global economy.

He noted that this progress aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The sector continues to enable efficient passenger and cargo movement while shaping the future of aviation.

Moreover, His Highness praised the strong performance of teams at Dubai International Airport. He commended their efforts under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum.

During his visit, Sheikh Hamdan reviewed operations at Dubai International Airport. He examined passenger services provided by Emirates. He also visited the Dubai Police operations centre. Officials briefed him on its role in ensuring airport safety through advanced smart services.

In addition, he reviewed ongoing smart technology upgrades. These upgrades aim to improve efficiency, enhance passenger flow, and speed up travel procedures. They also focus on improving overall passenger comfort.

“I am proud of the teams at Dubai Airports, Emirates and flydubai,” Sheikh Hamdan said. He added that the aviation ecosystem continues to maintain smooth and efficient operations. He highlighted its ability to ensure safety while adapting to changing conditions.

Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of Dubai Airports in supporting sustainable growth. He said it strengthens Dubai’s position as a bridge between global markets. He also noted that expansion plans will continue to align with the emirate’s long-term vision.

He added that Dubai will keep investing in advanced infrastructure and talent. This approach will further enhance its role as a global gateway. It will also support connectivity between people, markets, and opportunities worldwide.

Sheikh Hamdan also reviewed Emirates Airline’s operations. He praised its role in connecting Dubai to the world. The airline currently serves 123 destinations across 65 countries.

He also commended the professionalism of pilots and cabin crew. He highlighted their consistent delivery of high-quality service under all conditions.

Additionally, he received a briefing on the Emirates Network Operations Control Centre. This centre acts as the core of airline operations. It has been upgraded with advanced artificial intelligence, computer vision, and real-time geospatial mapping.

These technologies help monitor flights, weather conditions, and global developments. As a result, the system supports faster decision-making and efficient operations. It also ensures timely arrivals and departures. Furthermore, it enhances cargo and logistics coordination.

The visit included senior officials. These included Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, Helal Saeed Almarri, Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, and Lieutenant General Awad Hader Al Muhairi.

Dubai International Airport recorded strong performance in 2025. It welcomed over 95 million passengers. It also retained its position as the world’s busiest international airport for the twelfth consecutive year.

Total flight movements reached 454,800. This marked a 3.3% increase year-on-year. The growth reflects continued expansion in network capacity and operations. Overall, Dubai Airports continues to drive innovation, efficiency, and global connectivity.
