SDAIA, Saudi Data and AI Authority, in collaboration with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, has intensified its awareness efforts targeting companies serving pilgrims. SDAIA focused on strengthening understanding of data governance and personal data protection. It also promoted compliance with regulatory frameworks and aimed to reduce improper data-handling practices.

The initiative was delivered through a specialized workshop. It was attended by representatives of more than 200 companies serving pilgrims from within the Kingdom and around the world. In addition, over 70 ministry officials participated in the session.

Furthermore, the workshop focused on empowering companies serving pilgrims to implement best practices in data management. These included data classification and data quality standards. As a result, it aimed to enhance the reliability and accuracy of data used to develop and improve services for pilgrims.

In addition, SDAIA emphasized that these practices help increase operational efficiency. They also support informed decision-making and strengthen data integration and information sharing across entities in the Hajj and Umrah ecosystem. Moreover, SDAIA highlighted its role as the Kingdom’s national reference authority for data and AI. This reinforces consistent standards across sectors.

SDAIA stated that these efforts fall within its broader mandate to advance data awareness among government entities, private-sector organizations, and individuals. Ultimately, SDAIA continues to reinforce data governance, compliance, and digital transformation across critical national services, and SDAIA remains central to strengthening the Kingdom’s data ecosystem.
