Ajman Transport Authority has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with e& to strengthen collaboration in digital innovation and artificial intelligence. The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the 3rd Annual Government Cybersecurity Summit 2026. It aims to support the continued development of the transport ecosystem and corporate services.

The MoU was signed by Ahmed Saqr Al Matrooshi, Acting Director General of Ajman Transport Authority, and Saood Karmostaje, Acting Chief Executive Officer – Government and VIP Segment, on behalf of e&. The agreement focuses on leveraging advanced technologies to enhance operational efficiency and service quality.

Importantly, the partnership will explore agentic AI applications to support back-office functions. This includes automating human resources and finance processes. It also covers responding to employee inquiries, supporting leave and payroll management, and contributing to financial reporting. In addition, AI in public transport UAE initiatives will be a key focus area under this collaboration.

Moreover, the agreement includes smart solutions for planning and scheduling bus routes. This will be achieved through the analysis of operational and passenger data. As a result, it is expected to improve fleet efficiency, enhance capacity planning, and enable more flexible and sustainable transport services.

Furthermore, the MoU also covers the use of AI in video and behavioral analysis using computer vision technologies. This will support passenger flow monitoring and strengthen compliance with safety standards. It will also improve crowd management and enhance operational oversight across facilities and networks.

In addition, the agreement highlights capacity building initiatives. These include the development of specialized AI training programs. These programs aim to upskill employees and prepare them for digital transformation requirements.

Ahmed Saqr Al Matrooshi said the agreement marks a strategic step toward accelerating adoption of advanced technologies in the transport sector. He emphasized the Authority’s commitment to leveraging AI solutions to enhance operational performance and elevate service quality.

He added that the partnership will help build a more agile and innovative operating environment. It will also support smart planning, data analytics, and user experience enhancement. Additionally, it aligns with strengthening national capabilities in artificial intelligence and advancing UAE digital government transformation goals.

Saood Karmostaje said the MoU reflects a shared focus on applying advanced technologies that create practical value for the transport sector. He noted that combining e& UAE’s capabilities in AI, data, connectivity, and digital services with Ajman Transport Authority’s vision will improve efficiency and service delivery.

He further stated that both entities will work to identify scalable AI use cases. These will support a more agile, data-driven, and sustainable transport ecosystem.
