Dubai will host EV World 2026, the inaugural Dubai International Electric Vehicle Exhibition and Conference, from November 10 to 12, 2026, at Dubai World Trade Centre under the theme, “Driving a Smart and Sustainable Mobility Future.”

The event will be organised by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai.

The exhibition and conference aims to support Dubai’s shift towards smarter and more sustainable transport. It will also focus on green mobility, future mobility trends and advanced technologies for integrated transport systems.

EV World 2026 to bring mobility stakeholders together

His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors at RTA, said the event will bring together companies, investors, developers and decision-makers to discuss the future of electric mobility.

He noted that public transport is undergoing a rapid transition towards electric and new energy vehicles. Advances in battery technology, clean energy, charging infrastructure, artificial intelligence and autonomous systems are contributing to this shift.

RTA has also adopted the “Zero-Emissions Public Transportation in Dubai 2050” strategy. According to RTA, this makes it the first entity in the Middle East to establish a long-term strategy for transitioning public transport to net-zero emissions by 2050.

More than 300 organisations expected

EV World 2026 is expected to attract more than 300 local and international companies, authorities and organisations. The event will also feature more than 30 business partners and 70 speakers from organisations focused on sustainable transport.

More than 10,000 industry specialists and visitors are expected to attend.

Participants will showcase electric and hydrogen-powered vehicles, battery management systems, hydrogen fuel cells, sustainable energy technologies and fast-charging stations.

The programme will also cover smart infrastructure, unmanned aerial vehicles, autonomous systems, digital solutions and artificial intelligence applications for future mobility.

RTA expands international partnerships

Preparations for the event include international partnerships and meetings across several markets.

Al Tayer met with Dr Zhang Yongwei, Chairman of China EV100, to discuss cooperation in electric vehicles, new energy vehicles and smart and sustainable mobility.

RTA also signed a cooperation agreement with China EV100, China’s electric vehicle alliance. The agreement aims to increase participation from Chinese companies and institutions and strengthen cooperation in industry, technology and research and development.

The partnership will also connect Chinese capabilities with investment and commercial opportunities in the UAE and wider region.

In addition, the organising committee has conducted promotional visits and international meetings in China, Germany, Belgium and India. These efforts are focused on attracting specialised companies and institutions and expanding the event’s international partner network.

Focus on investment and mobility infrastructure

The event will address several areas linked to the wider adoption of electric vehicles. These include charging infrastructure, battery management, vehicle-grid integration and technologies supporting electric mobility.

RTA said the event will also support collaboration among manufacturers, investors, infrastructure developers, government entities and smart technology providers.

The broader focus extends beyond vehicles to infrastructure, energy, smart systems, specialised talent and investment partnerships.

Dubai advances zero-emission transport plans

RTA continues to work towards a full transition to zero-emission public transport by 2050 across vehicles, buses and marine transport.

As part of its taxi and limousine modernisation efforts, more than 72% of Dubai’s taxi and limousine fleet comprises environmentally friendly hybrid vehicles. Electric vehicles account for 19% of the fleet, exceeding the target set for 2026.

RTA has also developed an operational plan to convert the entire taxi and limousine fleet to electric and hydrogen-powered vehicles by 2040.

The authority is also expanding trials and deployment of autonomous electric vehicles and developing fast-charging infrastructure across public parking areas and major transport facilities.

Electric buses and marine transport

RTA is replacing conventional buses with electric models designed for the region’s climatic conditions. It is also testing fast-charging and opportunity-charging technologies.

Bus stations are being equipped with renewable energy systems and high-capacity power supply equipment to support continuous operations.

Meanwhile, Dubai’s marine transport network is also adopting electric and hydrogen-powered propulsion systems. These technologies are being applied to traditional abras and modern marine transport modes operating across Dubai Creek and Dubai Water Canal.

According to RTA, the approach can reduce carbon emissions and noise pollution while maintaining the heritage identity of Dubai’s marine transport. With EV World 2026, Dubai is bringing together electric mobility, infrastructure, energy, smart systems and investment opportunities. The event is expected to further support the emirate’s plans for a more sustainable and efficient transport system.
