The ASUS and Intel AI Lab Oman has officially opened at the Directorate-General of Education in Al Dhahirah Governorate in Ibri. The initiative marks the first AI-focused project by ASUS Education in the region and reflects the company’s commitment to advancing artificial intelligence adoption across the education sector.

Developed in collaboration with Intel, the AI Lab supports the Sultanate of Oman’s efforts to equip students with future-ready skills, empower educators, and strengthen research capabilities. It also aligns with Oman Vision 2040, which positions artificial intelligence as a key pillar for building a knowledge-based economy and improving the country’s global AI readiness.

The ASUS and Intel AI Lab Oman has been equipped with ASUS’ portfolio of AI-ready devices to support a wide range of educational and research applications. The facility includes rugged Chromebooks, AI PCs, all-in-one (AiO) systems for classrooms and laboratories, and high-performance AI-ready devices designed for advanced research.

In addition, the devices are built with sustainability in mind to help reduce carbon emissions. They also feature long battery life and reliable connectivity, making them suitable for hybrid learning environments.

Powered by Intel Core Ultra processors, the devices offer integrated AI capabilities for creativity, productivity, and professional-grade performance. AI acceleration is enabled through three processing engines, CPU, GPU, and NPU, working together to support AI applications and workloads.

The AI Lab combines ASUS’ hardware design, Intel’s AI technologies, and the local expertise of Bahwan Projects and Telecoms to deliver an AI-powered learning environment. Featured ASUS devices include the award-winning ExpertBook P3405, ExpertBook P5405, ExpertBook B1403, ExpertBook B3405 business laptops, along with the company’s range of All-in-One PCs.

Dr. Faisal Al Busaidi, Director-General of the Directorate-General of Information Technology, said the Ministry values the efforts of ASUS, Intel, and Bahwan in establishing the AI Lab in Al Dhahirah Governorate. He added that the initiative supports the Ministry of Education’s strategy to integrate AI technologies into the educational process while developing students’ skills.

Madeleine Hung, General Manager for East EMEA & META Commercial System BG at ASUS, said the company is proud to partner with Intel in launching the AI Lab at Oman’s Ministry of Education. She noted that ASUS will showcase its AI-ready solutions to help teachers and students explore AI applications in classrooms and research centers.

Hung added that the AI Lab is expected to become a hub for innovation and AI capacity building, supporting Oman Vision 2040 and the country’s National Program for Artificial Intelligence. She said the collaboration with Intel and Bahwan Projects & Telecoms will enable educators and students to experience the transformative potential of AI.

Yasser Mohamed Kheir, Group CEO of Suhail Bahwan Group (Holding) LLC, said the collaboration demonstrates the group’s commitment to advancing education through technology and innovation. He stated that combining ASUS’ AI-ready solutions, Intel’s advanced processors, and the company’s local expertise will provide educators and students with the resources needed to succeed in the era of artificial intelligence.

Eng. Taha Khalifa, General Manager of Intel Middle East and Africa, said Intel is pleased to collaborate with ASUS on the AI Lab in Ibri. He explained that Intel Core Ultra processors will power a new generation of AI-enabled education by combining AI-optimized technologies with ASUS devices. According to Khalifa, the initiative will help students and educators explore AI while supporting innovation and Oman Vision 2040.
