Trellix leadership has grown stronger this week. The global cyber resilience company has announced two key appointments. David Pieterse joins as Chief Operating Officer – Go-To-Market. David Soto steps in as Chief Information Security Officer.

Together, these additions to the Trellix leadership team aim to sharpen go-to-market execution. They also strengthen strategic partnerships and enterprise security efforts across the company.

Pieterse will lead go-to-market strategy going forward. He plans to accelerate execution across Trellix’s core growth areas. Additionally, he will focus on equipping front-line teams with the speed and clarity needed to win in a competitive market. His goal is to translate innovation into measurable value for customers.

Vishal Rao, CEO of Trellix, welcomed the new hire. He noted that Pieterse arrives at a critical time. As AI reshapes threat actor tactics, organizations must adopt proactive, AI-native security strategies. Rao expressed confidence that Pieterse can build the trust and momentum needed for long-term growth.

Pieterse brings over two decades of experience in enterprise technology and revenue leadership. Most recently, he served as Chief Revenue Officer at Recorded Future, the world’s largest threat intelligence company. There, he guided global revenue functions through the company’s acquisition by Mastercard. Before that, he held the same role at Snow Software, where he scaled operations through its acquisition by Flexera. He also served as SVP of Global Revenue at Kong, Inc.

In his own statement, Pieterse said the cybersecurity market has reached a genuine turning point. He believes Trellix has the security foundation and team needed to lead it. Moving forward, he will focus on building relationships and execution systems that deliver real outcomes for customers and partners.

Meanwhile, Soto will oversee Trellix’s enterprise security program. He will also drive the company’s shared resilience transformation. Furthermore, he will serve as executive steward of the Customer Zero program, which showcases Trellix’s own security practices in action.

Rao praised Soto’s track record in building resilient programs at scale. He said this experience aligns directly with Trellix’s enterprise security mission. As threats evolve, Rao expects Soto’s leadership to reinforce the company’s internal security culture.

Soto brings more than 25 years of cybersecurity experience across regulated industries. Most recently, he served as Head of Infrastructure Security at Amazon. In that role, he scaled security programs across more than 4,000 sites in 30 countries. He also embedded anomaly detection systems to protect employees working alongside automation and robotics. Before Amazon, Soto held positions at Check Point, Optiv, and Pacific Life. Since 2017, he has served on the board of the Orange County CISO Roundtable.

Soto emphasized that modern cybersecurity leadership goes beyond perimeter defense. According to him, it means being a genuine partner to the business. It also requires transparency and building programs that teams can stand behind. He added that machine-speed adversaries are redefining resilience standards, and he looks forward to strengthening Trellix’s foundation.

With these two appointments, the Trellix leadership team now focuses on a clear priority. The company aims to help security-conscious organizations achieve cyber resilience amid rapidly evolving, machine-speed threats.
