Tenable® Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: TENB), the exposure management company, has appointed Charlie Bell to its Board of Directors.

Bell is a technology executive with nearly four decades of hands-on software engineering and operational leadership. He brings expertise in building and scaling complex cloud systems. Tenable continues to advance its AI-powered exposure management platform.

The appointment comes at an important point for enterprise cybersecurity. Organizations are dealing with AI integration, cloud infrastructure and a growing volume of software vulnerabilities. In this context, Bell’s engineering-first perspective and cloud-scale product architecture background are expected to reinforce Tenable’s strategic direction.

Mark Thurmond, Co-CEO of Tenable, said Charlie Bell is “one of the foundational architects of modern cloud computing and enterprise security.” He added that Bell’s record of engineering resilient, large-scale software platforms and leading product teams is highly valuable for the business.

Steve Vintz, Co-CEO of Tenable, also commented on the appointment. He noted that Bell has experience leading organizations through major technology shifts. These range from the rise of cloud computing at scale to the security transformations that followed. Vintz said Bell will bring the same judgment to Tenable as the company moves into the next era of AI-driven exposure management and proactive risk reduction.

Bell spent over two decades at Amazon Web Services (AWS). There, he played a central role in building its cloud infrastructure from its inception into a global, multi-billion-dollar business. As a Senior Vice President at AWS, he led core engineering, utility computing and operational teams. These teams were responsible for scaling cloud platforms used by millions of enterprises worldwide.

Most recently, Bell served as Executive Vice President of Security, Compliance, Identity and Management at Microsoft. In that role, he oversaw the company’s enterprise security strategy, product engineering and threat intelligence operations.

Bell said Tenable has established a strong position in exposure management. He noted that it helps organizations focus on the risks that matter before they are exploited. “Throughout my career, I’ve been driven by a conviction that great engineering is the foundation of effective security,” he said.

He added that Tenable’s vision, backed by its large data lake and advanced exposure intelligence, positions it to address the complexities of today’s AI attack surface. Bell said he looks forward to working with the executive leadership team and the board. Together, they will help guide the company’s next phase of engineering-driven growth.

With Charlie Bell on the board, Tenable strengthens its technical depth. The company aims to help global organizations reduce risk across AI, cloud, identity, OT and traditional IT environments.
