HP has announced the launch of the HP Indigo 6K+ Digital Press. The new press is designed to meet the growing demands of digital label production with enhanced productivity, automation, and versatility.

According to HP, the label and packaging market requires faster time-to-market, more SKUs, and wider application diversity. In response, the company introduced the HP Indigo 6K+, built on the proven performance of the HP Indigo 6K, with over 2,300 units installed globally.

The HP Indigo 6K+ includes the new SmartControlSystem and AI-powered automation tools. These features aim to improve uptime, reduce waste, and increase press reliability. HP stated the new press will be available globally by the end of July 2025.

Key highlights include:

  • Integration with HP PrintOS Suite, Spot Master, Nio, and Automatic Alert Agent 2.0 (AAA 2.0)
  • Real-time insights, automated color management, and shorter setup times

Noam Zilbershtain, VP & General Manager, HP Indigo, said the 6K+ supports the company’s Nonstop Digital Printing vision. He highlighted its ability to handle any label job with enhanced robustness and nonstop production.

The press supports a wide range of substrates and complex applications, including smart labels and brand protection tools. It also accommodates pressure-sensitive labels, shrink sleeves, in-mold labels (IML), laminated tubes, flexible packaging, and folding cartons.

HP revealed the press features seven ink stations and specialty inks, covering up to 97% of the color gamut. This includes Silver ElectroInk, invisible inks, fade-resistant inks, and a comprehensive white ink portfolio.

Beta customers like Summit Labels and Geostick reported increased uptime, enhanced stability, and streamlined maintenance. Jordan Fischer from Summit Labels noted a 15% boost in uptime and higher job throughput.

HP also emphasized the sustainability benefits. The Indigo 6K+ reduces CO₂ emissions per job by up to 20% and lowers media waste. It supports recycled and renewable substrates and requires less maintenance time, helping meet sustainability goals.

The HP Indigo 6K+ will be showcased at Labelexpo Europe 2025 in Barcelona. At booths E25 and D21 in Hall 5, HP will demonstrate the press alongside its full portfolio of digital solutions.
