Acer has committed to achieving carbon neutrality for its Aspire Vero laptop line, starting with the launch of the Aspire Vero 16 (AV16-51P). This pledge is part of the company’s broader sustainability efforts, which aim to reduce environmental impact throughout the product lifecycle. By adhering to rigorous international standards for carbon footprint assessment and offsetting, Acer ensures that every stage of the laptop’s creation and use is focused on sustainability.
To minimize its environmental footprint, Acer has implemented several key measures, including the use of over 60% recycled plastic for the chassis and incorporating ocean-bound plastic for the touchpad surface. The Aspire Vero 16 also features energy-efficient Intel® Core™ Ultra processors, paired with Intel AI Boost to enhance power efficiency. These choices support Acer’s goal of reducing the laptop’s energy consumption while maintaining high performance.
Further promoting eco-consciousness, Acer has adopted 100% recyclable packaging and used recycled FSC-certified paper for all packaging materials. The company is also collaborating with logistics partners to reduce emissions from shipping by utilizing biofuels. This holistic approach reflects Acer’s dedication to a sustainable future and reducing its carbon impact at every step.
Acer has taken additional steps to ensure the longevity and recyclability of the Aspire Vero 16. The laptop is designed with standard screws for easy disassembly, repair, or recycling. Additionally, Acer has introduced AcerSense™ battery management software, which optimizes energy efficiency by providing multiple performance modes. These initiatives enhance the product’s sustainability and ease of maintenance.
As part of its long-term sustainability commitment, Acer has joined the RE100 initiative, aiming for 100% renewable electricity by 2035. The company also targets achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. Once all emission reduction measures are implemented, Acer will offset any remaining carbon footprint using high-quality carbon credits to ensure full carbon neutrality. The Aspire Vero 16’s pricing and availability will be announced in January, with specifications varying by region.
