His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), opened Dubai AI Week 2025 with a clear message: artificial intelligence will define the city’s future.
Sheikh Hamdan stated that Dubai is not only ready for global AI developments but is actively leading them. He emphasized that AI will be the foundation for improving quality of life, driving innovation, and creating new opportunities.
The event is organized by the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence and overseen by DFF. Speaking at the launch, Sheikh Hamdan highlighted that Dubai has the vision, infrastructure, and talent to lead global AI progress.
He recalled the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who over a decade ago predicted digital-first government services. Today, Dubai is moving beyond that goal.
According to Sheikh Hamdan, AI is now the backbone of smart cities and adaptive services. It powers governments that can anticipate change and respond efficiently.
He also announced new benchmarks for AI readiness. Government entities will be assessed on AI integration. Universities will be evaluated based on research and education in AI. Private companies advancing AI will be recognized as part of the new standard.
