ASUS has introduced a new convertible laptop, the ExpertBook B5 Flip G2, in the GCC region. The device is designed for students who need flexibility across research, study and entertainment. It supports laptop, tablet, tent and display modes through a 360-degree hinge. As a result, users can switch between modes depending on the task at hand.

The convertible laptop runs on up to the latest Intel Core 7 Series 3 processor. It includes a built-in 17 TOPS NPU along with Intel Graphics. Together, these components enable AI-powered productivity that adapts to different scenarios, from note-taking to presentations.

Tolga Özdil, Regional Commercial Director, META at ASUS, said the device aims to balance performance, portability and flexibility. He noted that AI is becoming a core part of school curricula across the Middle East. Therefore, the company wanted to ensure students have suitable technology to match this shift.

In terms of design, the laptop weighs just 1.34kg and measures 14.9mm thick. This keeps it portable without sacrificing durability. An optional garaged stylus is also available, useful for sketching diagrams or jotting down notes. Additionally, the chassis is made from aluminum and finished in Gentle Gray for a premium look.

The screen is a 14-inch NanoEdge display with an 84% screen-to-body ratio. It uses a 16:10 panel and reaches 400 nits of brightness. Moreover, the display carries TÜV Rheinland eye-care certification, which supports comfortable use over longer sessions. An optional touchscreen adds further flexibility for interactive work.

On connectivity, the device includes dual Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports and an HDMI 2.1 port. It also has two USB-A ports and a combined headphone and microphone jack. This range of ports allows users to connect multiple peripherals without extra adapters.

Durability is another focus area for this convertible laptop. It meets MIL-STD 810H military-grade standards. Meanwhile, features like a spill-resistant keyboard, reinforced hinges and strengthened I/O ports help it withstand daily use. For security, the laptop includes enterprise-grade protections along with a fingerprint sensor built into the power button. A physical webcam shield is also included for added privacy.

Sustainability was factored into the design as well. ASUS used recycled materials in construction, aiming for long-term reliability. Consequently, students using this convertible laptop can rely on more responsible technology throughout the semester.
