In a move to solidify Dubai’s position as a global aviation hub and pioneer in drone technology, the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Keeta Drones. This partnership aims to enhance drone delivery operations while ensuring the highest standards of safety and security in Dubai’s skies, in alignment with local and international regulations.
The MoU was signed by H.E. Mohammed Abdullah Lengawi, Director General of DCAA, and Dr. Yinian Mao, Chairman of Keeta Drones. The collaboration focuses on assessing infrastructure requirements for designated drone zones, reviewing airspace needs, and ensuring safety measures to facilitate secure drone delivery across Dubai.
H.E. Mohammed Abdullah Lengawi highlighted the significance of the agreement, stating, “This collaboration underscores DCAA’s commitment to realizing Dubai’s vision by enabling drone-based delivery and fostering an environment conducive to innovative aviation technologies. We aim to enhance safety, streamline operations, and support investment in emerging technologies, aligning with Dubai’s aspirations as a global leader in smart transportation.”
Dr. Yinian Mao echoed these sentiments, describing the partnership as a stepping stone toward expanding Keeta Drones’ operations in Dubai. “With DCAA’s support, we aim to establish new drone routes, offer diverse services, and ensure compliance with safety standards. Together, we are transforming Dubai into one of the most advanced cities for smart transportation,” he said.
The MoU also facilitates joint coordination to achieve Dubai’s airspace safety objectives. Keeta Drones will operate in designated areas as per DCAA regulations, with the Authority providing support, including collaboration with government entities, to expedite the creation of new drone flight paths.
This initiative aligns with DCAA’s broader efforts to regulate drone operations and contribute to Dubai’s sustainable development goals. By fostering innovative transport solutions, the collaboration aims to enhance economic growth, promote investment in low-altitude aviation, and benefit diverse societal sectors.
The partnership between DCAA and Keeta Drones is a significant step toward positioning Dubai as a global leader in smart and sustainable aviation technologies.
