DEWA aims to leverage cutting-edge technologies for long-term sustainability.

The impact of smart meters is significant, reducing water loss from 7.06% in 2018 to 4.6% by 2023. This has saved 12.5 billion gallons of water, worth AED 451.3 million. DEWA’s smart meters play a key role in supporting sustainability goals. The technology aligns with Dubai’s vision for a digital economy and sustainability.

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, emphasized DEWA’s focus on innovation and sustainability. The smart meters are central to the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, promoting growth and sustainability. Al Tayer noted the importance of smart meters in reducing water waste. These efforts support DEWA’s net-zero targets and enhance its infrastructure.

DEWA’s smart meter data management system is secure and fully automated. It provides real-time insights into consumption patterns and detects leaks. The Hydro Insight system, developed by DEWA, identifies anomalies within one hour. The Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) ensures accurate readings and remote billing through an advanced SAP platform.

This wide-scale deployment highlights DEWA’s commitment to technology and sustainability. It advances water management in Dubai, supporting its development goals. The project contributes to a greener, smarter future for the city. It reflects DEWA’s ongoing efforts to position Dubai as a global leader in sustainability.
