Dubai Esports and Games Festival 2025 Returns with Epic Gaming Action

Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE) has announced the return of the Dubai Esports and Games Festival (DEF) 2025, set to take place from April 25 to May 11. As the largest gaming and esports festival in the region, DEF 2025 will bring a thrilling mix of esports tournaments, gaming showcases, influencer meet-ups, and immersive experiences, further cementing Dubai’s status as a global gaming hub.

Following the record-breaking success of DEF 2024, which attracted over 28,000 visitors from 100+ nationalities and engaged more than 3.6 million players in regional tournaments, DEF 2025 promises even more action-packed experiences. The festival also aligns with Dubai’s Economic Agenda D33, driving digital innovation and fostering gaming talent in the region.

The highlight of the festival, GameExpo 2025, will take place from May 9 to 11 at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC). Featuring dedicated gaming zones, esports arenas, VR experiences, retro arcades, and family-friendly activities, it will offer something for every type of gamer. New additions this year include “The Quest” IRL zone and a Just Dance gaming experience. Attendees can also explore The Narrows marketplace, featuring the latest gaming tech and collectibles.

Competitive gamers can look forward to the Play Beyond esports showdown on May 10-11, where top influencers and professional players will battle it out. Fans will also get a chance to meet gaming icons and even compete on the main stage. Meanwhile, cosplay enthusiasts can participate in the Dubai Cosplay Championship on May 10, featuring live performances, competitions, and a cosplay catwalk.

DEF 2025 will also continue its Educational Engagement Programme, running until May, with initiatives like the Minecraft Education Challenge, ENBD Fortnite Quest, and GameOn with HP Gaming Garage Hackathon. These activities aim to inspire students and introduce them to gaming and esports career opportunities.
