Jaywan is now available on DubaiPay, following an announcement by Dubai Finance (DOF) and Digital Dubai (DDA) on the activation of the UAE’s national payment network on the platform.

The move expands payment options for customers and supports the implementation of the Dubai Cashless Strategy. Jaywan services became available after DDA completed operational testing, confirming DubaiPay’s readiness to securely and reliably process Jaywan card transactions.

The first government transaction using Jaywan was completed through the Dubai Cares donation service. This marks the network’s first use across government payment channels on DubaiPay.

Jaywan is the UAE’s national card payment scheme, operated by Al Etihad Payments, a subsidiary of the Central Bank of the UAE. It provides a national payment system for individuals, merchants and financial institutions, while supporting the localisation of electronic payments.

In addition, Jaywan cardholders can use their cards at point-of-sale terminals, ATMs and e-commerce platforms.

Abdulrahman Saleh Al Saleh, Director-General of DOF, said activating Jaywan on DubaiPay marks a milestone in Dubai’s digital payments ecosystem. He added that the initiative supports national payment solutions and their integration into government services.

According to Al Saleh, DOF and its partners will continue developing an integrated, secure and resilient payment ecosystem. The effort supports Dubai’s ambition to become a leading digital economy and advances the objectives of the Dubai Cashless Strategy.

Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director-General of DDA, said the integration of Jaywan into DubaiPay supports the shared digital infrastructure needed for more integrated and efficient government services. He added that the integration expands customer choice, improves the customer experience and strengthens confidence in digital transactions.

Matar Al Hemeiri, Chief Executive of the Digital Dubai Government Establishment, said the activation strengthens Dubai’s digital infrastructure and supports more seamless customer experiences. He added that digital payments are a fundamental part of Dubai’s digital lifestyle, with greater platform integration enabling smarter and more efficient government services.

Ahmad Ali Meftah, Executive Director of the Central Accounts Sector at DOF, said the integration strengthens interoperability between Dubai Government’s digital financial infrastructure and the national payments ecosystem. He added that the additional channel improves government revenue collection efficiency while expanding payment choices.

Amna Mohammed Lootah, Director of the Digital Payment Systems Regulatory Division at DOF, said enabling Jaywan on DubaiPay resulted from collaboration among partners and stakeholders across the payments ecosystem. She added that wider payment options provide customers with greater flexibility and support the adoption of digital payments across government services.

The activation of Jaywan reflects cooperation between DOF, DDA and other stakeholders to strengthen the UAE’s national digital payments infrastructure, expand national payment solutions across government services and improve interoperability between payment systems.

The Dubai Cashless Strategy aims to increase the share of cashless transactions across the government and private sectors to 90 percent by the end of 2026. The strategy is intended to reinforce Dubai’s position as a leading digital economy and next-generation payments hub, with Jaywan playing a role in expanding national digital payment adoption.
