He was welcomed by Major General Mubarak Saeed bin Gafan Al Jabri, Chairperson of the Higher Organising Committee for UMEX and SimTEX, and Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Managing Director & Group CEO of ADNEC Group.

During his visit, Sheikh Nahyan toured the pavilions of both national and international exhibitors. He was introduced to the latest innovations in unmanned systems, simulation, and training technologies, with diverse applications in defense, civil, and humanitarian sectors. The UAE’s institutions and companies were lauded for their advancements in unmanned systems, which play a vital role in various sectors and significantly contribute to humanitarian efforts.

His Highness also praised the international representation at UMEX and SimTEX, highlighting the event’s organization by ADNEC Group in collaboration with the UAE Ministry of Defense and strategic partner EDGE Group.

This edition of UMEX and SimTEX saw significant growth, expanding its exhibition space to a total of 30,000 square meters, a notable increase from 2022’s 26,200 square meters. This expansion underscores the increasing importance of the event within the defense and security sectors.

The event was further enhanced by the introduction of five innovative initiatives. The Ministry of Defence Coding Challenge Competition added a competitive edge, engaging participants with real-world technological challenges. The UMEX Commercial Zone offered a platform for businesses to showcase the latest innovations in defense technology.

For the first time, Live Demonstrations were held at the ADNEC Grandstand and Marina Channel, providing attendees with immersive, firsthand experiences of defense technologies in action. Additionally, the UMEX Next_Gen initiative highlighted the next generation of defense professionals, offering them a space to network and showcase their ideas.

Lastly, the UMEX Talks series featured expert-led discussions, fostering knowledge exchange and providing insights into the future of defense and security. These initiatives combined to make the event more dynamic and engaging than ever before.
