Huawei Strengthens Role in Qatar’s Digital Transformation with Strategic Partnerships

Huawei has solidified its position as a key driver of Qatar’s digital transformation by forging multiple high-impact partnerships at Web Summit Qatar 2025. The company’s involvement underscores its pivotal role in fostering innovation across Qatar’s key economic sectors.

At the summit, which attracted over 20,000 attendees, including investors and industry leaders, Huawei signed Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with prominent Qatari organizations. These partnerships focus on cloud infrastructure, ICT talent development, and technological innovation, reinforcing Huawei’s commitment to advancing Qatar’s digital ecosystem.

As an AI leader in various industries, Huawei Cloud is shaping industry intelligence by providing comprehensive AI capabilities, including advanced infrastructure, computing power, algorithms, development frameworks, and its cutting-edge Pangu Large Models. Dr. Zhu Shenggao, Director of the AI Department at Huawei Cloud Middle East and Central Asia, delivered a keynote at the event, emphasizing how AI and Cloud are reshaping industries, highlighting Huawei’s thought leadership in these transformative fields.

Rico Lin, President of Huawei Gulf North Region, stated, “These partnerships represent our dedication to supporting Qatar’s digital future. By integrating AI, cloud technologies, and intelligent systems across various sectors, we’re transforming business operations, service delivery, and customer experiences. Together with our partners, we’re unlocking new levels of innovation, efficiency, and global collaboration, paving the way for the next generation of technology in Qatar.”

A significant highlight of the summit was Huawei’s partnership with Media City Qatar to create a state-of-the-art smart media campus, powered by Huawei technologies. This project will feature advanced AI-powered access control, intelligent space asset management, an integrated multi-cloud media platform, and next-generation storage for media content, aiming to elevate customer experiences within Qatar’s media and entertainment sector.

In another major development, the Qatar Digital Academy (QDA), under the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), announced a new collaboration with Huawei to launch the QDA & Huawei ICT Academy. This initiative will offer globally recognized certifications and career development opportunities in ICT fields such as 5G, cloud computing, and digital transformation. The program will help bridge the digital skills gap and support Qatar’s transition into a smart, technology-driven economy in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.

Huawei also expanded its cloud presence in Qatar through strategic partnerships. PowerMind, a Lusail-based cloud services provider, joined Huawei’s Cloud Partner Network, enhancing its service portfolio with Huawei’s advanced cloud solutions. This collaboration will provide PowerMind with access to Huawei’s global ecosystem, broadening its network and resources to accelerate growth and innovation.

Additionally, Data Voice Technology teamed up with Huawei to offer advanced managed PABX (Private Automatic Branch Exchange) services in Qatar, designed for large enterprises, commercial organizations, and SMEs. The partnership leverages Huawei’s robust cloud infrastructure to deliver scalable, cost-effective, and feature-rich communication solutions.

Aamal IT, a subsidiary of Aamal Company, also formalized its partnership with Huawei by joining the Huawei Cloud Partner Network. This collaboration aims to drive mutual growth and deliver innovative cloud solutions to customers in Qatar.

Starlink, a key player in Qatar’s mobile and accessories distribution sector, was appointed as a Huawei Cloud distributor. Starlink will enhance its technical capabilities in cloud computing, infrastructure management, and support services to empower its network of resellers through Huawei’s extensive training and certification programs.

These strategic partnerships align with Qatar’s National Vision 2030, which seeks to strengthen local industries, foster innovation, and position the country as a global technology and digital transformation hub.
