Huawei unveiled its AI-Ready Data Storage solutions at MWC Barcelona 2025, aimed at accelerating the transformation of telecommunications carriers from traditional telco models to tech-driven organizations. This announcement comes as telecom providers globally look to harness the growing value of data in the AI era. Dr. Peter Zhou, President of Huawei’s Data Storage Product Line, emphasized the role of AI in driving business innovation, stating, “The AI-powered transformation of various industries is creating a golden era for data.” He further highlighted how global carriers are exploring opportunities to monetize emerging application scenarios like smart homes and digital factories, which are increasing the demand for advanced data storage solutions.

Huawei introduced an AI-Ready data lake solution to address the challenges posed by data silos. This solution enables organizations to break down barriers, making data visible, manageable, and available, and transforming unstructured data into high-quality business assets. The company’s storage portfolio spans a wide range of needs, from mission-critical workloads to mass data management. Huawei’s OceanStor Dorado Converged All-Flash Storage and OceanStor A Series High-Performance AI Storage provide high-performance AI capabilities with 100 million-level IOPS, supporting billions of daily transactions in mobile finance and charging services.

For emerging services like live streaming and XR games, Huawei’s OceanStor Pacific All-Flash Scale-Out Storage offers exabyte-level scalability, high density, and energy efficiency. Additionally, Huawei’s OceanProtect All-Flash Backup Storage provides five times faster data recovery than industry alternatives, making it essential for critical AI applications and emergency data protection.

Huawei also introduced the DCS AI Solution, a toolchain designed to overcome AI implementation challenges such as slow data preparation and complex application development. This one-stop solution accelerates AI model fine-tuning and deployment, enabling telecom carriers to rapidly implement AI-driven transformations.

Huawei’s FlashEver business model was also highlighted at MWC Barcelona 2025. This model addresses investment challenges by offering flexible, evolutionary architecture that ensures seamless upgrades to live-network equipment. It also includes flexible purchase options, SLA assurances, and tailored storage and data services to meet the specific needs of telecom carriers.

As the commercial rollout of 5G-Advanced accelerates, Huawei continues to partner with carriers worldwide to drive the transition to a more intelligent world. The company remains committed to building the AI-ready data storage foundation that will fuel AI adoption across the telecom industry.

Huawei is showcasing its latest solutions at stand 1H50 in Fira Gran Via Hall 1 at MWC Barcelona, which is taking place from March 3 to March 6, 2025, in Barcelona, Spain.
