Schneider Electric, AVEVA, Nscale and Start Campus have announced one of the first pilots of the Immersive Twin, an end-to-end digital twin built with the NVIDIA Omniverse DSX Blueprint.

The blueprint is part of NVIDIA DSX Sim. Schneider Electric describes the Global energy technology company’s partners as follows: AVEVA is an industrial software company, Nscale is a full-stack AI cloud platform, and Start Campus is a data center developer and operator.

The Immersive Twin pilot connects Schneider Electric, AVEVA and ETAP technology in one digital platform. It links AI workload requirements with power, cooling, electrical and operational models. The aim is to speed up AI factory deployment and improve token efficiency.

Pilot Focuses on the SINES Data Campus

The deployment centers on Nscale’s operations in the SIN01 data center. SIN01 sits on the 1.2 GW SINES Data Campus in Portugal, which was developed by Start Campus.

The campus is described as one of Europe’s largest and most sustainable AI factories. It is designed to support successive generations of AI infrastructure. It will soon host more than 66,000 NVIDIA Rubin GPUs, making it one of the largest AI deployments in the region.

The pilot combines engineering and operational data with power and cooling simulations. It also factors in workload requirements. As a result, the Immersive Twin gives a unified view of data center performance. Operators can spot optimization opportunities before changes are made on site.

Nscale expects several outcomes from the twin:

  • Faster time to token
  • Greater token efficiency
  • Enhanced operations
  • Increased flexibility
  • Reduced risk when updating or modifying its technology stack

Nscale on Modeling Real-World Operations

“Working with Start Campus, Schneider Electric and NVIDIA, we’re using digital twins to model how AI data centers operate in the real world, from power and cooling to token delivery,” said David Power, Chief Technology Officer at Nscale.

“This gives us a clearer view of where full-stack optimizations can be realized before changes are made on the ground. It’s about using intelligence and simulation to build and operate AI infrastructure more efficiently, and sustainably at scale.”

A Collaborative, End-to-End Approach

The pilot brings together expertise in energy management, engineering, simulation and AI infrastructure operations. Together, these give a more complete view of data center performance.

It supports the full lifecycle of AI factories, from design through operations. To do this, it uses an OpenUSD-based digital twin. The twin connects Schneider Electric, ETAP, AVEVA and third-party technologies.

Teams can also run rapid “what-if” scenarios across power, cooling and process behavior. This helps them validate design decisions and assess upgrade impacts. It also helps reduce procurement risk. In addition, linking IT and OT data supports continuous performance optimization.

At the same time, the pilot advances interoperability through simulation-ready asset files. These files help speed up integration into digital twins.

Start Campus provides the real-world infrastructure, engineering expertise and operational environment. This shows how digital twin technology can change the design, development and operation of AI data centers. Nscale can then test new configurations or technologies before implementation. That speeds up deployment and significantly reduces risk.

AVEVA on a Unified Digital Twin

“We are proud to have joined forces with Schneider Electric, NVIDIA, Nscale and Start Campus to develop and deploy this unified digital twin, purpose-built for AI factories,” said Caspar Herzberg, CEO of AVEVA.

“By bringing together power, cooling and infrastructure in one environment, operators can simulate upgrades, expansions and greenfield projects while continuously optimizing physical operations as conditions change, improving both ‘time to token’ and overall efficiency.”

He added that the twin is built on proven AVEVA technologies. These include CONNECT, PI System, AVEVA Process Simulation, AVEVA Unified Engineering and AVEVA Asset Information Management. The twin supports both simulation and real-time visibility into asset performance in a single pane of glass. This is enabled by Viewport, the visualization application within NVIDIA Omniverse.

Start Campus on Building Once

“AI infrastructure needs to evolve as quickly as the technology it supports,” said Robert Dunn, Chief Executive Officer at Start Campus.

“Our collaboration with Schneider Electric, Nscale and NVIDIA has taught us that operators and customers design, develop and operate data centers best when they work from the same model. By using digital twin technology to simulate how a jump in rack density moves through the power train and the liquid cooling loop before it becomes a physical reality, we can test new hardware generations, agree the configuration with our customer and build it once.”

“That accelerates deployment, improves efficiency and maximizes the value of every megawatt. This is an important step towards delivering resilient AI infrastructure at scale.”

Building on Existing Partnerships

The pilot expands Schneider Electric, AVEVA and ETAP’s work with NVIDIA. Last year, the three companies joined the Alliance for OpenUSD (AOUSD). The goal was to accelerate digital twin and AI factory development through the NVIDIA Omniverse DSX Blueprint.

The companies also continue to collaborate on reference architectures, integrated infrastructure and software solutions. These will power and cool the next generation of AI factories. They also use NVIDIA Omniverse libraries to simulate and improve energy efficiency in real-world environments.

Overall, the Immersive Twin pilot shows how simulation can support decisions across the AI factory lifecycle.
