Intersec 2024: Innovations, Technology In Fire Prevention

Fire safety took center stage at Intersec 2024, the world’s largest gathering of fire and emergency professionals. The Fire Safety segment, hosted by Dubai Civil Defense, features 400 exhibitors from both local and international arenas. The event serves as a platform for showcasing cutting-edge firefighting technologies and industry best practices, fostering connections among global experts.

The Fire Rescue section, spanning five halls at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), is the exhibition’s fastest-growing sector. It encompasses a diverse range of products, including Fire Prevention and Protection, Fire Fighting Equipment, Emergency Alarm Warning Systems, Rescue Equipment, and Safety Design in Buildings.

A dedicated Fire Rescue Conference commenced at Intersec, addressing revolutionary technologies transforming the industry. Saeed Alshaiba, Information Security Officer of Dubai Civil Defense, highlighted the significance of the Dubai Civil Defense Readiness application. This innovative tool, incorporating various systems, utilizes Artificial Intelligence (AI) to predict fires, enhancing preparedness for potential incidents.

The Dubai Civil Defense Readiness program aligns with the UAE’s strategy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 40% by 2030, positioning the country as a leader in global firefighting and environmental sustainability efforts.

Intersec 2024 also features Hochiki Middle East FZE, showcasing advanced Japanese-designed life safety solutions, including fire detection systems, alarm devices, control panels, and wireless detection systems. Shahab Anjum, Head of Sales at Hochiki Middle East, emphasized the impact of the pandemic on accelerating the adoption of remote monitoring and AI in fire safety technology.

Prominent exhibitor NAFFCO, based in the UAE, presents a comprehensive portfolio at Intersec 2024, featuring fire trucks, fire and smoke detection technology, fire alarms, and fire extinguishing systems.

In addition to fire safety, the Safety Walk highlighted the latest safety wear and equipment collections from exhibitors. Sponsored by EnSafe Evacuation Chair, Jutec, and Teijin, the Safety Walk emphasized the growing importance of personal protective equipment (PPE) and shared guidelines for its use and maintenance.

The Fire Rescue Conference continues with sessions led by industry experts from the UK, Europe, and GCC. Topics include ‘The Future of Fire Safety in Smart Buildings’ and ‘International Collaboration in Fire Safety.’

Intersec’s 25th edition encompasses five product sections: Commercial Perimeter Security, Homeland Security Policing, Fire Rescue, Safety Health, and Cyber Security. With the theme ‘Innovating security tech for a quarter century,’ the exhibition hosts over 1,000 exhibitors from more than 60 nations, attracting over 45,000 trade visitors from around the world.
