Organisers of Intersec 2026 have announced the launch of three major new features at the event, which returns to the Dubai World Trade Centre from 12-14 January 2026.

The 27th edition, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansoor Bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, will introduce Passive Fire Day, the Control Room Innovation Theatre, and the co-located event FCIA-NFCA PFPCON ’26 Dubai.

Hosted with the Association for Passive Fire Protection (ASFP), Passive Fire Day on 14 January aims to elevate passive fire protection as a recognized professional discipline in the built environment. Passive fire protection includes fire-resistant walls and floors, fire doors, fire stopping, and cavity barriers. Unlike active systems, it does not require activation, making it a vital element of building safety.

Senior ASFP representatives will lead discussions on early design engagement, regulatory alignment, fire door specification and installation, and competence across the passive fire supply chain.

FCIA-NFCA PFPCON ’26 Dubai, running from 12-14 January, connects global experts and practitioners to advance standards and collaboration in passive fire protection. The event is co-located with Intersec 2026 and presented by the Firestop Contractors International Association (FCIA) and the National Fireproofing Contractors Association (NFCA).

The Control Room Innovation Theatre, in partnership with the International Critical Control Rooms Alliance, will highlight AI-enabled cognitive control rooms and integrated command centre operations. Sessions will focus on decision-making under pressure, workforce resilience, and operator wellbeing.

Additionally, Intersec 2026 will host exclusive Executive Roundtables with senior leaders from government, industry, and technology. Topics include crisis management for critical infrastructure, intelligence-led security for Gulf maritime boundaries, and safeguarding national infrastructure in the era of AI and hybrid threats. PwC Middle East and Kearney will lead the sessions.

The event will also feature the Innovation Trail, showcasing exhibitors presenting innovative solutions in security, safety, and fire protection.

With support from the General Command of Dubai Civil Defense (DCD) and the Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA), Intersec 2026 will host over 1,200 exhibitors from 60+ countries across five sectors: Homeland Security & Policing, Cybersecurity, Commercial & Perimeter Security, Fire & Rescue, and Health & Safety.

Over 50,000 visitors are expected across 65,000 sqm of exhibition space, making it the largest edition in Intersec’s 27-year history.

Key points:

  • Passive Fire Day and PFPCON ’26 Dubai to advance fire safety standards.
  • Control Room Innovation Theatre to explore AI and integrated operations.
  • Executive Roundtables to address AI, crisis management, and security.
