The 28th edition of Intersec Global 2027 will run from 12 to 14 January 2027 at Dubai World Trade Centre. The event is a meeting point for nations, industries and sector specialists.

It is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council. Messe Frankfurt Middle East (MFME) organises the show. The General Command of Dubai Civil Defense and the Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA) support it.

Global Readiness Summit Anchors the Programme

The show is anchored by the inaugural Global Readiness Summit. It builds on the UAE’s national focus on readiness and resilience. This focus is also reflected in the theme of the upcoming UAE Government Annual Meetings in November.

The event will gather the global safety, security and resilience community in Dubai. Together, they will address some of the most critical challenges facing the planet.

A New Structure Built Around Five Domains

The show introduces a responsibility-led architectural model. It reflects modern threat convergence rather than fragmented product categories.

The new structure features five specialist domains:

  • National Security & Law Enforcement
  • Cybersecurity & Resilience
  • Surveillance & Physical Security
  • Fire, Rescue & Emergency Response
  • Safety & Wellbeing

Together, these domains offer visitors a connected view of the technologies, strategies and solutions shaping future safety, security and resilience. They also create new opportunities for cross-sector collaboration, knowledge exchange and procurement.

Dishan Isaac, Show Director, Intersec Global, Messe Frankfurt Middle East, explained the thinking behind the change.

“Our new interconnected domain model reflects the way risks cascade across physical and digital environments,” he said. “By bringing public-sector authorities together with innovators developing the next generation of solutions, Intersec Global provides the environment to turn shared challenges into stronger operational readiness.”

A Strategic Evolution

The change reflects the growing interrelation of real-world risks. This is driving significant industrial growth in the global security and safety market.

A GRS Security & Safety Market Outlook Report was commissioned by Intersec Global earlier this year. It projects the market will grow by US$1.48 trillion by 2030.

What Each Domain Covers

National Security & Law Enforcement unifies sovereign command, digital policing, intelligence and border security. Fire, Rescue & Emergency Response enables predictive life safety, advanced suppression and civil-defense readiness.

H.E. Lieutenant General Expert Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi, Commander-in-Chief, General Command of Dubai Civil Defense (GCDCD), spoke about Dubai’s approach.

“Dubai’s approach to civil protection is focused on anticipating risk before it becomes an emergency, using data and technology to strengthen preparedness and protect human life,” he said.

He added that the new domain provides a platform to welcome civil protection leaders and benchmark emergency response protocols. “By combining predictive capabilities with intelligence-led fire suppression, rescue technologies, and field-ready solutions, we can continue to advance a more proactive model,” he said.

Safety & Wellbeing moves beyond compliance. It focuses on workforce resilience, smart wearables and a human-centered health, safety and environment transformation.

Surveillance & Physical Security advances proactive intelligence. It does so through AI analytics, sensor fusion and smart infrastructure.

Paul Such, Vice-President, Video Security & Access Control, Motorola Solutions, outlined the company’s plans for the show.

“By embedding purpose-built AI solutions into our expanding physical security portfolio, we’re helping essential industries including transportation, aviation, critical infrastructure and retail to focus on and protect what matters most,” he said. “At Intersec Global 2027, we’ll demonstrate how our proven AI technologies cut through data complexity to deliver real-time, actionable insights that make operations safer, smarter, and more resilient.”

Cybersecurity & Resilience completes the programme. It protects critical infrastructure, OT environments and digital trust through cyber-physical resilience.

H.E. Khalifa Ibrahim Alsaleis, CEO, Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA), highlighted the role of regulation.

“Dubai’s approach to urban safety demonstrates how smart regulation can enable innovation while maintaining the standards required to protect communities and infrastructure,” he said. He noted that the Surveillance & Physical Security and National Security & Law Enforcement domains support this direction. They convene AI analytics, proactive intelligence and integrated security. The aim is to strengthen interoperability and collaboration across global markets.

Four Layers of Protection

The platform’s architecture reflects the protection ecosystem across four connected layers. These are safeguarding nations, securing systems, strengthening communities and protecting people.

The show connects ministries of interior, police forces, national guards and civil defense authorities. It also links critical national infrastructure operators and enterprise buyers directly with global solution providers.

Scale and Italy’s Debut as Country Partner

The show is a gateway for government, institutional and enterprise procurement across the connected safety, security and resilience ecosystem. Organisers expect more than 1,000 exhibitors, 200 industry speakers and 14-plus conferences and features. Representatives from more than 150 countries are also expected.

Italy joins the lineup as Country Partner for the first time. It will host an Italian Pavilion with 12 national exhibitors.

Valerio Soldani, Director and Trade Commissioner to the UAE and Oman, Italian Trade Agency (ITA), called the debut a milestone.

“Italy’s debut at Intersec Global 2027 marks a significant milestone in our commitment to fostering high-level technological and industrial cooperation across the region,” he said. “With our first-ever official participation, spanning a dedicated 240-square-metre national pavilion, and our strategic partnership as Country Partner, the Italian Trade Agency is proud to showcase the excellence, innovation, and reliability of Italian industry.”

He added that the platform will give Italian companies direct access to regional decision-makers, system integrators and key stakeholders. The goal is to build durable partnerships and address growing demand for resilient solutions across the Middle East and beyond.

Major New Show Features

Beyond a conventional trade floor, the show unites state-level decision-makers, ministries, institutional buyers and industry innovators. It spans the protection ecosystem, from nation to neighbourhood.

The three-day show will activate five strategic engines: Thought Leadership, Innovation, Connect, Academy and Live. It will also introduce two major new milestones.

The first is the inaugural Global Readiness Summit. It will serve as the strategic leadership platform of the show. Governments, institutions, critical-infrastructure operators and industry leaders will discuss the capabilities needed to anticipate risk, prepare, coordinate, respond and sustain essential functions. Topics include national readiness, critical infrastructure and secure mobility, AI and cyber-physical convergence, safe cities, emergency response and future capability.

The second is Code Zero: Gridlock. This immersive, scenario-led experience simulates a city operating under critical stress. It is built around a live incident, a cascading crisis in which infrastructure, transport and municipal networks face simultaneous cyber disruption and physical threats. The showcase will demonstrate how integrated command systems, automated response protocols and inter-agency collaboration help resolve operational gridlock.

Nathan Waugh, Portfolio Director, Security, Technology and Production, Messe Frankfurt Middle East, summed up the vision.

“As the risk landscape becomes increasingly interconnected, our vision is to go beyond showcasing technology and create an environment where strategic intelligence, capability building, and international collaboration can translate innovation into readiness,” he said. “Ultimately, Intersec Global is about strengthening the entire protection ecosystem and helping shape a safer, more resilient future.”
