Intersec Saudi Arabia, platform for security, safety, and fire protection in the Kingdom, was officially opened today. Prince Dr. Abdulaziz Bin Mohammed Bin Ayyaf Al Muqrin, Private Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Vice Minister of Interior, announced the inauguration.

The event is running until 1 October at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center (RICEC). Organizers revealed that this year marks the strongest edition to date, with over 380 exhibitors from 36 countries and 27,000 visitors expected.

Intersec Saudi Arabia is held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Minister of Interior. It is organized in association with the General Directorate of Civil Defense and Messe Frankfurt Middle East, licensed to 1st Arabia.

During the opening tour, Prince Dr. Abdulaziz highlighted the importance of international collaboration across the security, safety, and fire protection industries.

Bilal Al Barmawi, CEO and Founder of 1st Arabia Trade Shows & Conferences, reported that Intersec Saudi Arabia focuses on the Kingdom’s needs. He added that the platform brings together innovators, government leaders, and industry pioneers to strengthen national resilience.

Running alongside the exhibition are two flagship conferences, the Fire Protection and Technology Summit and the Future Security Summit, powered by ASIS International – Dharan Chapter.

  • The Fire Protection Summit opened with a keynote from Saudi Civil Defense and sessions on international best practices.
  • The Future Security Summit featured discussions on AI in security, border protection, and resilience against emerging threats.

Speakers included Matt Sutcliffe, Assistant Chief Fire Officer, Humberside Fire and Rescue Service, who discussed human vulnerability and AI-driven fire protection. Phil Garrigan, Chair of the UK’s National Fire Chiefs Council, revealed the importance of collaboration among police, fire, and ambulance services.

AI was a key theme at the Future Security Summit. Bader W. Alkhaldi, Director of Cybersecurity Protection Department at Aramco, delivered a keynote on building a resilient and sovereign AI ecosystem. Justin Vaughan, Director of Public Safety Technology at PwC Middle East, spoke on next-generation border and maritime command centers, highlighting AI, sensors, and autonomous systems.

Riham Sedik, Exhibition Director of Intersec Saudi Arabia at Messe Frankfurt Middle East, stated that the summits reflect Saudi Arabia’s priorities and global momentum toward safer communities.

Tomorrow’s program will be hosted in association with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). It will cover topics such as electric vehicle fire risks, lithium-ion battery safety, code compliance, and emergency response.

The exhibition includes five product sectors: Commercial & Perimeter Security, Homeland Security & Policing, Fire & Rescue, Safety & Health, and Cybersecurity. It spans Halls 1–7 at RICEC and a purpose-built outdoor area.
