The King Salman International Airport Development Company (KSIADC) and Huawei have signed a groundbreaking Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at LEAP 2025 to drive innovation and digital transformation in the aviation sector. This strategic partnership aims to revolutionize airport operations and elevate passenger experiences by leveraging Huawei’s expertise in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and KSIADC’s leadership in developing King Salman International Airport into a world-class hub.

King Salman International Airport, spanning 57 square kilometers, is set to become one of the largest and most advanced airports globally. The ambitious development will feature six runways, six terminals, and an iconic terminal designed to enhance the passenger experience. The airport will also include a private aviation hub, a cargo and logistics center, and an integrated airport city with residential, hospitality, retail, entertainment, office, logistics, and industrial assets, making it a global gateway for business, tourism, and logistics.

The partnership will focus on incorporating advanced technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and Private 5G-Advanced (5G-A), to optimize operational efficiency and improve passenger services. A key aspect of the collaboration is the creation of an AI-powered digital guest platform that will streamline interactions, enhance wayfinding, and deliver personalized services. Additionally, the partnership will integrate smart infrastructure solutions like Private 5G-A and IoT to boost airport operations and explore future innovations, such as predictive analytics and advanced biometrics, ensuring the airport’s scalability and adaptability to evolving demands.

Linda Schucroft, VP of Digital Innovation at KSIADC, stated: “This partnership with Huawei marks a major milestone in our mission to transform King Salman International Airport into a global leader in smart aviation. Through the integration of cutting-edge technologies, we aim to redefine operational efficiency and enhance passenger experiences, setting new standards for innovation in the aviation industry.”

Simon Zousiyi, Deputy CEO of Huawei Saudi, commented: “At Huawei, we are committed to using technology to revolutionize industries and create smarter, more sustainable ecosystems. This collaboration with KSIADC demonstrates our dedication to delivering tailored ICT solutions for the aviation sector. Together, we will build a next-generation airport that not only improves operational efficiency but also redefines the passenger experience, setting a global benchmark for smart airports. This partnership aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, and we are excited to contribute to this transformative journey.”

The MoU underscores KSIADC and Huawei’s shared vision of using technology to drive innovation and sustainability in the aviation sector, in line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which prioritizes infrastructure modernization and strategic partnerships to position the Kingdom as a global hub for logistics and tourism.

Huawei also showcased its innovations at LEAP 2025 in Riyadh from February 9th to 12th, highlighting how its digital transformation solutions are reshaping industries. Huawei’s comprehensive portfolio addresses the growing needs of smart cities, healthcare, education, and industrial sectors, with a focus on intelligent infrastructure that promotes sustainability and operational efficiency.

This partnership between KSIADC and Huawei is poised to set a global standard for smart airport solutions, further driving the future of aviation technology.
