The META PC market is showing signs of recovery in 2025, driven by the upcoming end-of-support date for Windows 10 at the end of October. Analysts reported that this critical deadline is prompting both organizations and individual users to upgrade their hardware.

During the CONTEXT META Monthly webinar, experts revealed that this trend has revitalized a PC market in need of refreshes since the pandemic. While larger enterprises have already updated their fleets, distribution channels noted a significant pickup in demand from small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs).

Although this refresh cycle is progressing more gradually than the previous Windows 10 migration, it has already resulted in notable year-on-year growth for PC sales. The market also benefits from an improved economic outlook, with the IMF reporting upward adjustments in several countries due to lower tariffs and better financial conditions.

However, challenges persist. Global uncertainty and ongoing geopolitical tensions remain headwinds. Experts warned that while Windows 10 upgrades will drive growth for the remainder of 2025, investment in PCs could still be affected by these risks.

An analysis of notebook and desktop revenue trends across the META region revealed diverse performance. The UAE and Türkiye showed strong gains, while Saudi Arabia experienced a decline in desktop revenues. Similarly, UAE and South Africa saw a clear pickup in notebook sales, while Türkiye’s growth slowed recently and Saudi Arabia lagged behind regional peers.

The rise of AI PCs is also reshaping the META market. Devices featuring neural processing units (NPUs) now account for 27% of notebook units sold in the region. Saudi Arabia recorded the highest share at 44% in August. Intel emerged as the leading processor vendor in this segment.

Experts noted that AI PC adoption is mainly driven by new product availability rather than end-user demand. These devices command higher prices, with a 27% unit share translating to 45% of notebook revenue. Analysts reported that as AI applications mature, the revenue premium from AI PCs is expected to support continued market growth.

Key points:

  • Windows 10 end-of-support drives META PC market recovery.
  • UAE and Türkiye lead growth, Saudi Arabia shows weaker performance.
  • AI PCs gain traction, generating higher revenue despite slower adoption.
