Sheikh Hamdan Meets X Corp. CEO

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, met with Linda Yaccarino, CEO of X Corp. (formerly Twitter), at The Executive Office in Emirates Towers, Dubai.

This high-level meeting highlights the UAE and Dubai’s ongoing commitment to fostering partnerships with global technology leaders, further cementing their status as an international hub for innovation. Sheikh Hamdan emphasized that the UAE is focused on forging long-term collaborations in the digital media sector, in line with its goal of driving digital transformation across various industries.

Sheikh Hamdan outlined the ambitions of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims to generate AED 100 billion in annual economic value through digital transformation over the next decade. He noted that X Corp. is a vital partner in advancing innovation and technology adoption in the country.

X’s vision of evolving into an all-in-one digital hub aligns with the UAE’s focus on AI and cutting-edge technologies. Dubai, a media epicenter for over two decades, offers a robust platform for international companies to innovate and expand. With around 4,000 media and tech companies, Dubai provides a dynamic ecosystem, making it an ideal base for global businesses to launch innovative services and set new standards in digital engagement.

The discussion explored potential partnerships that align with the UAE and X Corp.’s shared goals of digital transformation and innovation. Sheikh Hamdan expressed confidence that the collaboration will create lasting value for both the UAE and X, setting a global example for impactful corporate partnerships.

X Corp. has had a significant presence in the region since 2015, when it opened its first office in Dubai, serving as a strategic base in the Middle East and North Africa. As of mid-2024, the company boasts 250 million daily active users.

The meeting was also attended by His Excellency Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, and Director General of the Dubai Crown Prince’s Office.
