UAE Wraps Up Successful Participation at WEF 2025 in Davos

The UAE has successfully concluded its participation in the 2025 World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, held from January 20 to 24. Led by H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority, the UAE delegation, one of the largest at the forum, played a key role in addressing global challenges and fostering international collaboration.

Under the theme “Collaboration in an Intelligent Age,” the UAE reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable development and leveraging advanced technology for transformative solutions. With over 100 CEOs, private sector leaders, and government officials, the delegation emphasized the UAE’s dedication to building global partnerships and contributing to development efforts on regional and international scales.

H.H. Sheikha Latifa participated in key sessions at the forum, showcasing the UAE’s achievements and exchanging insights with global leaders. She met with Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus, former Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, and Hilde Schwab, Co-Founder of the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship. She also toured exhibitions exploring the intersection of arts, culture, and technology in solving global challenges.

Mohammed Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, highlighted the UAE’s efforts to strengthen international partnerships. He noted that the nation continues to build on past collaborations and praised the increasing involvement of UAE companies, reflecting the supportive business environment and their role in achieving national goals.

The UAE signed several key agreements at Davos 2025, including a partnership with the World Economic Forum to create the Global Regulatory Innovation Platform (GRIP). This initiative will develop a Future-Readiness Index for Legislation, promote regulatory innovation, and foster a network of global experts and policymakers. The UAE also partnered with the World Economic Forum through the Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution to drive the adoption of emerging technologies and solidify its position as a global hub for innovation.

The Dubai Future Foundation (DFF) announced a collaboration to develop a global index measuring the readiness of public and private sector organizations to capitalize on future opportunities. This initiative builds on DFF’s expertise in creating the “Dubai Future Readiness Index” and aims to enhance global resilience.

The UAE also focused on global healthcare advancements through a letter of intent between the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi and the World Economic Forum. This collaboration aims to drive digital transformation in healthcare by leveraging AI, data, and public-private partnerships to improve patient outcomes.

On the humanitarian front, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) pledged AED 36.7 million (US $10 million) to the UNHCR to support displaced communities. This brings MBRGI’s total contributions to AED 163.6 million since 2021, reinforcing its commitment to global aid initiatives.

The UAE’s prominent presence at the 2025 World Economic Forum highlighted its leadership in innovation, collaboration, and sustainable development, further strengthening its global reputation as a forward-thinking nation.
