Vertiv, a global critical digital infrastructure company, has announced a major Vertiv Ireland expansion across its facilities in Ireland and the North West. The move comes as demand for AI and data centre infrastructure continues to grow worldwide.

The company plans to submit an application to Donegal County Council for an additional 7,000 square metres of space at its Letterkenny facility. As a result, this expansion could create up to 300 new jobs in the region.

This latest development builds on Vertiv’s already strong presence in Ireland. Currently, the company operates facilities in Letterkenny, Burnfoot and Campsie in Derry. In addition, it runs a Central Procurement Office in Limerick and a sales and service office in Dublin. Meanwhile, Vertiv continues to actively recruit across these sites to support ongoing organic growth, further reinforcing its status as one of Ireland’s most significant industrial and technology employers.

Since the beginning of 2026, Vertiv has onboarded more than 500 employees across its Irish operations. Furthermore, the company continues to recruit for numerous open positions, including several engineering and operational roles. These new hires will help expand manufacturing capacity. At the same time, they will deepen Vertiv’s technical expertise in power, cooling and industrialised infrastructure solutions. Consequently, this supports faster and more efficient deployment of AI, data centre, and critical industrial applications globally.

Speaking about the announcement, Taoiseach Micheál Martin TD said Vertiv’s decision to expand in Donegal and create hundreds of new skilled jobs is welcome news for both the region and Ireland. He added that investments of this scale support balanced regional development, strengthen the enterprise base, and demonstrate the confidence international companies place in Ireland for long-term growth.

Similarly, Paul Ryan, president of Vertiv in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), emphasized the strategic importance of the company’s Irish operations. According to Ryan, as demand for critical digital infrastructure accelerates, Vertiv is helping customers deploy AI and data centre capacity around the world. He noted that the planned extension, along with continued recruitment, forms part of the company’s ongoing efforts to support growth while creating opportunities for skills development and career progression in the region.

Notably, this proposed project is supported by the Irish Government through IDA Ireland. Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment Peter Burke TD said it is exciting to see Letterkenny attracting this level of investment from a global infrastructure leader. He added that the expansion will allow professionals to build careers within a global organization while enjoying the quality of life the North West offers.

Additionally, Michael Lohan, CEO of IDA Ireland, described Vertiv’s continued growth in Co. Donegal as a strong example of how global companies can scale high-value operations from regional Irish locations.
