Vertiv, a global digital infrastructure solutions provider, has launched the Vertiv PowerDirect Rack. This 1U high-density 50V DC power system is designed for demanding AI and high-performance computing (HPC) environments. With its modular design, the system scales up to 132kW per rack, offering twice the power capacity of traditional solutions in the same footprint.
The Vertiv PowerDirect Rack enables data centers to maximize space and efficiency. Built for Open Compute Project (OCP) ORv3 High Power Rack (HPR) environments, it delivers high-density power while reducing energy waste. Its flexible AC and HVDC input support, combined with real-time monitoring and modular scalability, simplifies expansion as power demands grow.
“Our customers need to deliver more power in less space, especially with the growth of AI and HPC applications,” said Kyle Keeper, Senior Vice President at Vertiv. “The Vertiv PowerDirect Rack provides a scalable, energy-efficient solution that adapts to evolving demands and helps build future-ready infrastructure.”
The system delivers 97.5% peak energy efficiency, cutting power waste, reducing cooling needs, and lowering operating costs. It supports both AC and HVDC inputs, making it compatible with various data center infrastructures. Additionally, its hot-swappable modular design ensures uninterrupted operations while allowing easy scalability.
This innovation adds to Vertiv’s broad portfolio of solutions designed to support AI and HPC acceleration, making it a key asset for modern data centers.
