Garden in the Sky

Garden in the Sky at Expo 2020 gives an ultimate view above the ground, which is 55 meters high offers 360-degree views of the site; it is both an observation tower and a “flying park” in one.

Garden in the Sky

The tower’s upper floor, located in Jubilee Park and connected to the air-conditioned lower floor by stairs, is planted with 10 PeltophorumInerme trees. PeltophorumInerme, often known as yellow flame trees, are well adapted to the UAE’s hot and arid climate and are a common sight in Dubai’s parks and streets.

Visitors will visit the lower cabin in the basement and the upper cabin on the ground level of this unique attraction, which is the only one of its kind in the world. As they ascend and drop, the interconnected cabins revolve.

Jubilee Park

Aside from Garden in the Sky, Jubilee Park is home to dozens of food outlets, large-scale art installations, the Jubilee Stage, the 15-meter-high, 360-degree-round Expo 2020 water feature, the World Souq, and Rashid’s Playground, an ocean-themed adventure inspired by Expo 2020 mascot Rashid’s imagination and underwater exploits.

The wadi, a sort of seasonal watercourse that springs to life in the desert after heavy rains, painting the barren terrain green, inspired the design of Jubilee Park.

Expo 2020 Water Feature

Water, earth, and fire combine to make the Expo 2020 Water Feature one of Expo 2020’s must-see attractions

Giant sheets of water pour down 13-meter-high vertical walls, forming a mysterious, multi-hued circle of fire by day and defying gravity by flowing upwards at night, backed by an orchestral score by the award-winning composer of the Game of Thrones theme music.

The Expo 2020 Water Feature, located between Al Wasl Plaza and Jubilee Park, mixes the elements of water, earth, and fire in a way that will both surprise and excite the senses.

Visitors coming from Al Wasl Plaza enter a verdant 40-meter-wide garden of towering palms and fragrant plants rising above a series of curving paths that encircle the central water feature like ripples in a pond. Large planted walls rise up around the feature, with three openings to a central area that takes visitors below ground level.

As they make their dramatic plummet to the plaza below, the 153 individual waves range from sparkling sheets to blasts of water that literally explode from the walls. People are encouraged to walk to the bottom of the falls to observe how the water sinks into the stone. At night, the waves reverse direction and pour up the walls, creating a gravity-defying sight.

A mystery circle of fire in the center of the feature releases massive bursts of flames in spectral hues of red, green, and yellow. These massive flames are made of pure hydrogen and hence produce no carbon, in keeping with Expo 2020’s theme of sustainability.

The London Symphony Orchestra performs an orchestral masterpiece by releasing each rush of water on a musical cue. The original score was created by RaminDjawadi, an award-winning composer whose work includes the theme music for HBO’s Game of Thrones, for which he received Grammy Award nominations in 2009, 2018, and 2020.

The Expo 2020 Water Feature, as well as its accompanying landscaping and architectural components, are designed to connect individuals inside the park through dynamic flow while also permitting interaction between adjacent places.

WET Design of California produced the Expo 2020 Water Feature, which has built some of the world’s most iconic fountains and water features, including the famous dancing fountain at Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, using supercomputers and other cutting-edge technology. WET choreographers and RaminDjawadi collaborated to match music with the water feature’s visual experience. SWA Group created the surrounding landscaping and architectural features.
