Gitex 2022 Day 2: Innovation and partnership continue for the tech sphere

Gitex 2022, one of the largest technology summits in the MEA region, continued for the second day on October 11, 2022. The event continues to showcase new innovations and services for a more sustainable ICT ecosystem.

Even government entities are showcasing examples of digital transformation leading to more efficient working. Dubai Police General Command released an updated version of the Dubai Police smart app. The app will now come with support for seven languages that are Arabic, English, Russian, German, Chinese, French, and Spanish. Users can log in to the app via face recognition for smoother login and more features that help users to be able to actively engage with the community.

Major IT and tech companies also got to flaunt their latest products and services and even discuss the future of technology which this year’s Gitex theme is the future of the digital economy and web 3.0. Huawei, a major ICT player in the MEA region and also the diamond sponsor at Gitex 2022 hosted it’s annual ‘Huawei Innovation Day’ which was conducted on the second day of Gitex. The conference took place at Al Multaqua Ballroom at the DWTC in collaboration with the Arab ICT Organization (AICTO) under the theme of “Collaboration to Unleash Innovation for Sustainable Digital Future”. The sessions’ topics included developing the next generation of digital leaders, empowering women in ICT in the MEA region, and using green ICT to ensure the sustainability of sectors and industries.

Gitex also witnesses many partnerships and deals with government entities and private companies. One such is the debut of GITEX AFRICA overseas which marks the first international venture for the world’s mega tech showcase, in partnership with Morocco’s Digital Development Agency. They will hold the inaugural event at Marrakech, Morocco from May 31, 2023 – June 2, 2023. The event will bring the tremendous potential of the world’s youngest continent to the attention of the tech community and develop a vision for a more tech-driven, connected, inclusive, and sustainable digital economy.
