Mr. Guo Ping, Huawei’s rotating chairman, revealed at the LEAP 2022 technology innovation conference that Huawei will soon build a cloud region in Saudi Arabia.

The new cloud region will have a positive impact on Saudi Arabia and the wider Middle East as part of its digitalization strategy.

“Going digital is now a key global consensus,“ noted Guo.

“Over the past three years alone, many global enterprises have fully embraced digitalization, with the top 10% of these organizations growing their revenue as much as five times faster than those who have not embraced digitalization. Huawei’s own customers, partners, and developers can rely on our services to help industries in the region go digital,” he added.

The participation of the rotating chairman at the inaugural LEAP conference demonstrates Huawei’s commitment to participating in and assisting the digital revolution in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East.

Ping emphasised that Huawei is already an active participant in Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation process, having assisted local carriers in connecting over 5.5 million people in distant locations. For the last 17 years, the business has ensured the stability of Saudi telecom networks throughout big national events such as the Hajj, which necessitates high-quality networks.

Guo stated in Saudi Arabia that Huawei will help the Kingdom’s efforts to become one of the first governments to develop a large-scale AI model.

Taking place from February 1-3, LEAP in Saudi Arabia brings together tech giants, aspiring entrepreneurs, and venture capitalists to discuss opportunities and potential in the digital economy. Huawei has a significant presence at LEAP bringing its diverse ICT capabilities together for attendees to explore.
