The HUAWEI MatePad Pro Max has been introduced as the world’s thinnest and lightest 13-inch tablet, bringing a new level of portability while maintaining flagship performance and productivity features.

The tablet measures just 4.7 mm in thickness, making it significantly slimmer than Huawei’s previous 13-inch model, which measured 5.5 mm. According to Huawei, achieving this design required a complete rethink of the tablet’s internal architecture rather than simply reducing the chassis thickness.

To support the slimmer profile, Huawei introduced an integrated all-metal unibody design for the first time in one of its tablets. The company also adopted a laser-assisted component embedding process, allowing electronic components to be integrated directly into the mainboard. This approach reduces both thickness and weight.

Moreover, Huawei reinforced the tablet’s structure with load-bearing beams to improve rigidity. Steel reinforcements were also added around critical components, including the camera, mainboard, and battery. As a result, bending resistance has improved by 60 percent despite the thinner design.

The HUAWEI MatePad Pro Max also features a notch-free 13.2-inch 3K flexible OLED PaperMatte Display. The display delivers sharper visuals while reducing glare and improving eye comfort. It supports a peak brightness of 1,600 nits and a 144 Hz refresh rate. In addition, the nano-level etching process enhances display clarity and has earned the TÜV Rheinland Full Care Display 5.0 Certification.

For productivity, the tablet comes with an upgraded WPS Office suite that includes new WPS AI capabilities and enhanced online collaboration tools. Huawei says these features are designed to improve both individual productivity and teamwork.

The device also includes updated HUAWEI Notes functionality. Users can now import documents and PowerPoint presentations, allowing them to manage files in one place. When paired with the HUAWEI Glide Keyboard, which integrates storage for both the keyboard and stylus, the tablet is positioned as a solution for work and study.

Furthermore, the tablet is compatible with the HUAWEI M-Pencil Pro. Combined with the GoPaint application, users gain access to more than 150 brush types that deliver realistic digital painting effects and support a wide range of artistic styles.

The tablet is powered by a 10,400 mAh high-silicon anode battery, which Huawei says delivers up to 14.5 hours of local video playback. It also supports 40 W reverse SuperCharge, enabling the device to function as a portable power bank when needed.

Despite its slim form factor, the tablet incorporates a six-speaker crossover system alongside a new quad-driver bass unit to deliver enhanced audio performance.

With its redesigned hardware, premium display, AI-powered productivity features, creative tools, and long battery life, the HUAWEI MatePad Pro Max aims to redefine expectations for flagship tablets while setting a new benchmark for portability in the 13-inch tablet segment.
