Abu Dhabi-based telecom group e& has launched its first AI Laptop, marking a major step into enterprise AI hardware in the UAE. The device, called the “AI Laptop by e&“, was unveiled on 27 August 2026 and is aimed at business and government customers.

The new AI Laptop runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Series processors. It comes with built-in large language models that operate directly on the device. As a result, users can run AI workloads even without an internet connection.

Unlike cloud-dependent AI tools, this AI Laptop keeps data and processing local to the device. This design supports data sovereignty and privacy. It also reduces exposure to external cloud environments. Consequently, the laptop is well suited to regulated sectors such as government, banking, healthcare, education and logistics.

Abdulla Ebrahim Al Ahmed, Chief Government & VVIP Relations Officer at e& UAE, said the partnership with Qualcomm combines data sovereignty with productivity. He added that the device supports the UAE’s ambition to lead in AI innovation by placing secure, localised computing power in the hands of the workforce.

Mohammed Al Khairy, Head of Edge AI for Qualcomm in the Middle East and Africa, echoed this view. He said the collaboration reflects a shared focus on advancing edge AI capabilities at scale, while helping enterprises boost productivity without giving up control of their data.

In addition to on-device AI, the laptop offers enterprise-grade security and centralised IT management. This allows organisations to deploy it at scale across departments and locations. Because of its offline capability, the device is also designed for demanding field environments, including oil and gas sites, logistics hubs and remote schools, where network connectivity is often limited.

The AI Laptop by e& will be offered in two configurations. The S1-14 Elite includes a 12-core Snapdragon X Elite processor, up to 32GB of LPDDR5X memory and up to 1TB of PCIe Gen5 storage. Meanwhile, the S1-14 Plus features an eight-core Snapdragon X Plus processor, 16GB of memory and 512GB of PCIe Gen4 storage.

Both variants run Windows 11 Pro. They also include a 14-inch QHD display with 2880 x 1800 resolution, full sRGB colour coverage, Adreno graphics, Wi-Fi 7, a 65Wh battery and 65W USB-C charging. Furthermore, each unit comes with 36 months of onsite support.

Overall, the launch of the AI Laptop underscores e&’s push into secure, edge-based computing for enterprise customers. More information on deployment options is available on e&’s official website.
