Kodak Alaris has introduced the N2000 Series of network desktop scanners, a new distributed-capture platform designed to give organizations a single, standardized way to turn paper into accurate, trusted digital information at every location. The lineup includes two models, the N2040 (40ppm/80ipm) and the N2050 (50ppm/100ipm), both equipped with onboard Gigabit Ethernet. Additionally, the series offers a clear upgrade path for organizations still running earlier desktop models such as the KODAK E1040 and KODAK S2050.

In distributed organizations, capture equipment is often purchased site by site. As a result, related business processes become ad hoc, and image quality varies from one location to the next. Consequently, staff often resort to manual workarounds, and this kind of variation tends to surface later as rework, intake delays, and audit exposure. To address this, the N2000 Series replaces that patchwork with one capture standard that scales from a single desktop to an entire fleet, so every branch, desk, and counter operates the same way, and the data flowing downstream stays consistent.

For the frontline operator, Perfect Page image science, Dual-Light Illumination, and SurePath paper handling work together to capture even folded, textured, or low-contrast originals cleanly on the first pass. Meanwhile, ultrasonic multi-feed detection instantly catches double-feeds, so jams and rescans remain rare. For the operations manager, onboard Gigabit Ethernet along with Network EasySetup help enforce a standard configuration across the entire fleet, ensuring a multi-site rollout follows a single profile rather than drifting from location to location. Furthermore, for the executive accountable for risk, Secure Boot with signed firmware, encrypted connections, locked firmware, and digital stamping with audit logs make every capture defensible by design.

“Distributed organizations don’t have a scanner problem; they have a standardization problem,” said Megan Bevilacqua, Director of Global Product Management & Channel Operations at Kodak Alaris. “When every site captures differently, the cost shows up later as rework, delays, and audit findings. The N2000 Series gives them one capture standard they can deploy everywhere and defend when it counts. So, a teller line, a registration desk, and a claims office all produce the same trustworthy record.”

The series is built on the driver architecture already proven across the Kodak Alaris S3000 and S5000 Series, with TWAIN, ISIS, and WIA drivers, and it supports a broad range of operating systems, including Windows, Windows Server, and Linux (Ubuntu). Notably, KODAK Capture Pro LE is included out of the box, so teams can begin capturing right after unboxing, with no additional licenses to procure. In addition, a 3.5-inch color touchscreen, a 100-sheet feeder, wide media handling from light paper to hard cards, and modular flatbed options allow a single workstation to handle everyday batches as well as bound books, fragile items, and passports. Built for regulated environments in banking, healthcare, insurance, government, legal, and back-office operations, the scanners are now generally available worldwide through the Kodak Alaris network of channel partners and resellers.

The KODAK N2000 Series includes the following models, both available now:

• KODAK N2040 – up to 40 pages per minute (80 images per minute)
• KODAK N2050 – up to 50 pages per minute (100 images per minute)
