HONOR has announced the upcoming launch of the HONOR X9e Pro, the first Pro model in the HONOR X Series. The global AI device ecosystem company says the smartphone builds on the series’ reputation for durability. It also raises the bar across battery, display, imaging and AI features.

HONOR says the device brings Pro-level capabilities together with durable design. The company positions it as a smartphone for users who expect more from their devices.

Durability Built Into the Design

The device features a new generation of all-around protection. HONOR describes its 3 metre drop resistance, IP69K water resistance and 85°C high-temperature resistance as the strongest in the industry.

The drop protection relies on an all-new 360° shock-absorbing architecture. According to HONOR, it provides dynamic protection across different terrains. The phone has also earned the SGS Premium Performance 5-Star rating for Drop Resistance in Harsh Scenarios. That rating covers complex terrains and low-angle drops.

On water resistance, the HONOR X9e Pro carries IP69K protection. It can withstand submersion in water up to 10 metres. It also supports underwater photography.

The phone is built for heat as well. It can withstand hot-water splashes of up to 85°C.

An 11,000mAh Battery

The smartphone uses an 11,000mAh battery, which HONOR describes as the largest in the industry. The company says it delivers up to 3 days of use in a defined mixed-usage scenario.

HONOR also shared results from internal testing. The battery was validated for endurance at 50°C. The tested scenarios included navigation, short and long video playback on TikTok and YouTube, calls, standby and music playback.

Charging is covered too. The device supports 80W HONOR SuperCharge for quick replenishment. In addition, 27W wired reverse charging lets the phone act as a portable power source for compatible phones and accessories.

Furthermore, the phone uses high-efficiency power management. It is paired with a 6-year battery durability design. HONOR says this supports more consistent performance over a longer ownership period.

A 10,000 Nit Display

The display reaches up to 10,000 nits of brightness. HONOR says this delivers clear and vivid visuals in challenging lighting conditions.

The screen measures 6.8 inches and offers a 1.5K resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate. HONOR says it provides smooth viewing and true-to-life colors. A hardware-level 1-nit ultra-dark mode reduces glare in dim surroundings.

Eye comfort is also a focus. The display includes 10 HONOR Oasis Eye Comfort technologies. These include AI Defocus Display, Motion Sickness Relief, AI Personalized Display and Ultra Dark Mode.

Moreover, intelligent touch recognition accepts input from gloved or wet hands. This makes it less likely that a change in weather or working conditions will interrupt a task.

108MP Main Camera

HONOR says durability does not come at the expense of photography. The 108MP Ultra-Clear Main Camera records fine detail in daylight scenes, night environments, outdoor action and portraits.

CIPA 6.0-level stabilization combines OIS and EIS. It counteracts shake when users shoot handheld, move across uneven ground or capture fast-changing moments.

For underwater use, an exclusive intelligent color correction solution is included. HONOR says it delivers accurate and vibrant colors in underwater shots.

Pro AI Capabilities

The device also adds AI features aimed at everyday use. AI FreeGrip supports operation with either hand. Intelligent left- and right-hand recognition detects the active hand. It then places the capsule on the appropriate side of the screen.

The phone also supports single-handed call answering. In addition, it is powered by Google Gemini for AI assistance. Creative Editor 2.0 offers tools to edit, personalize and transform content.

Colors and Availability

The device will be offered in four color variants: Deep Purple, Reddish Brown, Dawn Gold and Midnight Black. Pricing and availability details were not included in the announcement. With the HONOR X9e Pro, HONOR is combining durability, battery capacity, display brightness and AI features in a single Pro model.
