Alibaba announced the launch of its new Quark AI glasses in China, Reuters reported. The company revealed the product on Thursday. The move signals Alibaba’s push to enter the growing AI wearables market.

Prices will start from 1,899 yuan, around 268 dollars. The headset is powered by Alibaba’s Qwen AI model and app. Unlike headsets from Meta or other players, the Quark AI glasses look like regular eyewear. They come with a simple black plastic frame.

Alibaba said the glasses will be integrated with its key apps, including Alipay and Taobao. As a result, users will be able to access features such as on the go translation and instant price recognition. The company aims to position the device for daily use.

The launch comes as Alibaba makes a stronger move into consumer AI. Earlier this month the company revealed a major upgrade to its AI chatbot. The race to build new AI driven devices for entertainment and computing continues to intensify.
