Ankabut, the UAE’s technology provider for the education and research ecosystem, has partnered with PowerSchool to advance digital education across UAE schools.

PowerSchool provides K-12 education technology to more than 60 million students across more than 90 countries. Through the partnership, its connected operating system will be brought to the UAE through Ankabut’s local infrastructure.

The partnership was announced during an event at ERTH Abu Dhabi Hotel on September 22, 2026, attended by PowerSchool, Ankabut, and K-12 customers.

As part of the collaboration, PowerSchool will provide its Student Information System (SIS). The SIS will operate within Ankabut’s data centre at Khalifa University, allowing student and institutional data to remain stored within the UAE.

This approach supports two priorities within the UAE’s national strategy, accelerating AI adoption in education and supporting data sovereignty by keeping education data within the country rather than overseas data centres.

“AI is changing how students learn and how teachers teach, and schools need digital infrastructure that keeps pace,” said Tarek Jundi, CEO of Ankabut.

“Our partnership with PowerSchool means UAE schools get access to leading digital tools without compromising on data sovereignty. That’s the balance schools are asking us for today, technology they can build on, and data they can trust.”

Furthermore, PowerSchool supports local deployment requirements through its collaboration with Ankabut. Several of its solutions also offer localized user experiences, including Arabic language support, right-to-left interfaces, and regional requirements such as the Hijri calendar.

PowerSchool has operated in Dubai since 2023. Its regional presence complements Ankabut’s role as the UAE’s national education network and strengthens the availability of digital education technologies for UAE schools.

At the same time, schools are increasingly consolidating systems and adopting AI-powered tools for learning and daily operations. The collaboration is intended to help institutions manage these functions through a unified system.

The solution will support individualised learning within a secure environment for both public and private educational institutions. AI tools can adapt to individual learning styles, while also helping reduce administrative tasks for teachers.

“Through our partnership with Ankabut, we’re combining globally proven education technology with trusted local infrastructure to help schools simplify operations, support personalized learning, and confidently adopt AI-powered tools,” said Fadi Abdulkhalek, Vice President EMEA at PowerSchool.

“Together, we’re committed to empowering educators, improving student outcomes, and ensuring data privacy and security remain foundational to innovation.”

Ultimately, Ankabut and PowerSchool share a long-term vision for AI-enabled tools to become part of standard practices across educational institutions, while maintaining data privacy and security. The partnership is therefore designed to support the digital transformation of UAE schools through locally hosted infrastructure and AI-powered education technology.
