Canon EMEA, a global leader in imaging and print technologies, has announced the appointment of Shinichi ‘Sam’ Yoshida as its new President & CEO, effective March 1, 2025. Yoshida succeeds Yuichi Ishizuka, who is retiring after a distinguished 44-year career with Canon, including seven years leading the EMEA region.
Yoshida transitions from his role in the USA, where he served as Executive Vice President & General Manager of the Marketing Strategy Unit, as well as Chairman & CEO of Canon Solutions America, Inc. and Canon Financial Services, Inc. In his new role, he will oversee Canon EMEA’s expansive operations across 120 countries, managing a workforce of approximately 12,300 employees and contributing significantly to the company’s global revenue.
His leadership will focus on strengthening Canon’s core imaging and printing business while driving expansion into emerging areas such as B2B Imaging, Industrial and Commercial Printing, and Information Management Solutions. With a background in manufacturing, innovation, and sustainability, Yoshida was instrumental in establishing Canon Virginia, Inc., a key manufacturing hub in the Americas.
“Canon is a market leader in imaging and print technologies, serving millions of customers across EMEA. This diverse and dynamic region presents incredible opportunities, and I am honored to lead the business through its next phase of innovation and growth,” said Yoshida.
Yuichi Ishizuka leaves behind a lasting legacy, having held senior positions across Japan, the USA, and Canada. Among his notable achievements, he pioneered the launch of the globally acclaimed Cinema EOS range in the US, revolutionizing professional filmmaking and video production.
With Yoshida at the helm, Canon EMEA looks poised for continued success, leveraging its expertise in imaging and print technologies to drive future growth and innovation.
