Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has announced the launch of two new artificial intelligence (AI)-based tools. The initiative aligns with its strategic roadmap to become the world’s first AI-native utility.

The new tools are designed to support engineering and technical staff. They also aim to speed up project planning and implementation.

DEWA revealed the two tools as:

  • Material Insights Agent – a virtual photovoltaic expert
  • BRD Generator – a generative AI tool for creating Business Requirements Documents

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, reported that these tools support Dubai’s vision of using AI as a cornerstone of future services and initiatives.

He stated that the utility leverages Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies, especially AI, to enhance performance and productivity.

The Material Insights Agent offers intelligent, real-time analyses. It supports engineers and researchers working on solar energy projects. This tool uses advanced data and simulation models to help teams make more accurate design decisions.

By doing so, it improves project quality and accelerates completion.

Meanwhile, the BRD Generator uses generative AI to automate documentation. It streamlines the process of creating comprehensive business requirement documents. These include both functional and non-functional project needs.

This tool enables faster and more informed decision-making. It also enhances clarity of project scope and deliverables.

DEWA reported that both tools contribute to its global leadership in energy, water, and smart services.
