Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the completion of its free Wi-Fi rollout at major public transport stations across the city.

The initiative was carried out in collaboration with e& and covers 21 public bus stations and 22 marine transport stations. This move is part of a broader effort to enhance the daily commuting experience for passengers in Dubai.

RTA revealed that the service allows commuters to stay connected using their smartphones, tablets, and laptops while traveling. It also supports the authority’s long-term strategy to accelerate digital transformation across its services.

According to RTA, this step caters to the needs of diverse community segments. It also aligns with the UAE’s vision of promoting smart services and improving quality of life.

The authority reported that this digital initiative contributes to Dubai’s goal of becoming the world’s smartest and happiest city.

Key features of the initiative include:

  • Free internet access at 43 key transit points
  • Seamless connectivity for mobile devices during commutes

RTA confirmed that the Wi-Fi service will be continuously evaluated and improved in partnership with e&. This is to ensure high-quality and reliable internet access for all bus and marine transport users in the emirate.
